Entourage star Jeremy Piven drops the F-bomb during live interview while watching the NBL Championship Grand Final Series in Melbourne

His Entourage character Ari Gold was known for his acidic, foul-mouthed rants.

And Jeremy Piven briefly slipped back into his famous TV role during an interview at the NBL Championship Grand Final in Melbourne on Sunday.

Speaking live to ESPN during the match between Melbourne United and the Tasmania JackJumpers, the Hollywood actor and comedian, who is currently touring Australia with his stand-up show, dropped the F-bomb when asked how Gold players would motivate the teams to win.

“Just let them know that we have a limited amount of time on this planet and you can be viciously mediocre or you can get after it,” Piven responded, before promoting his live comedy stand-up show.

“Yes, I’ll be at the Palais Theater on Tuesday night, please, here’s your free ticket, you get a free meet and greet if you say ESPN everyone,” he said.

‘I’m sorry about the swearing. And then I’ll be at the State Theater in Sydney on Thursday.’

Piven appeared to have a ball on the court at John Cain Arena as he took in the excitement of the match.

He wore a black and white striped shirt under a black blazer and completed his look with large glasses.

Speaking to ESPN in the second quarter of the game, Piven, who often attends NBA games in the US, was asked how he enjoyed the match.

“And it’s fun to watch because everyone is so intense, they’re diving for balls, and I love it.”

Later that evening, the JackJumpers recorded a stunning victory, defeating the favored home team 83-81 in a thrilling match.

Piven enjoyed a successful eight-season run on Entourage from 2004 to 2011, culminating in a spin-off film released in 2015.
