Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum is ‘responsive’ and ‘stable’ after collapsing during the Continental League Cup final with Chelsea.

The midfielder fell to the ground unopposed in the 95th minute in worrying scenes at Molineux.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall was the first to notice his player needed attention before Katie McCabe urgently called for medics to enter the pitch.

Maanum is now said to be in a stable condition and talking but will continue to be monitored by Arsenal’s medical team.

The stoppage came just before the match went into extra time, with the score 0-0 after 90 minutes.

Play resumed for the final minutes of normal time, with Alessio Russo brought on as a substitute for Maanum. Shortly afterwards the final whistle blew meaning another 30 minutes.
