Ahead of their second season with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the New York Jets are reloading and acquiring Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

Reddick was given a third-round pick by the Eagles in the 2026 NFL Draft, which could turn into a top-two round pick based on the linebacker’s performance.

The Eagles’ linebacking corps was a bit crowded after the team signed Bryce Huff from the Jets in free agency to a three-year, $51.1 million deal.

Now Reddick is headed to the AFC, where he hopes to be part of New York’s resurgence.

It will be the first AFC team Reddick pays for after previous stops with the Panthers and Cardinals.

The addition of Reddick signals a bigger plan from Jets general manager Joe Douglas.

Rodgers will turn 41 in December and will be out of Achilles surgery for his next NFL snaps.

There is a limited window in which New York can compete for a playoff spot with Rodgers leading the charge.

Rodgers’ season ended after four offensive snaps in 2023 when he tore his Achilles tendon in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Without him, the team finished 7-10.

Now, with a healthy Rodgers and Reddick on the roster, the Jets will make another attempt at the postseason.
