Vladimir Putin could launch attacks on the West in space, says Chief of Arms Admiral Sir Tony Radakin.

The senior officer of the Royal Navy said Russia could attack America and European countries from the air and just below the Earth’s surface.

Sir Tony told the Telegraph: ‘It has potential in space… We saw an example of that at the end of last year, when Russia exploded an object in space causing massive debris. Russia has nuclear capabilities, Russia has underwater capabilities.’

The news comes after Moscow was accused of destroying Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines that supply natural gas directly to Germany.

European leaders believe both explosions were a deliberate act carried out on the orders of the Kremlin, with the chief of defense staff calling the explosions “unprecedented.”

Sir Tony declined to blame Russia, but said they had the capabilities to damage the continent and Ukraine in information battles.

It has anti-satellite powers and demonstrated this in November by blowing up its own satellites using a missile marker the first full test of the technology in the country.

NATO, after being briefed by Washington about the test, he condemned what it called a “reckless act” by Moscow “demonstrating that Russia is developing new weapons.”

The US Space Command had previously accused Russia of showing “deliberate disregard for the security, safety, stability and long-term sustainability of space” while warning that debris from the destroyed satellite could remain in orbit for “decades”. the earth could stay.

After confirming the test, the Russian Ministry of Defense said: “On November 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense successfully conducted a test that destroyed the non-functioning Russian spacecraft Tselina-D, which has been in orbit since 1982. Earth was hit.

“The United States is confident that the resulting fragments did not and will not pose a threat to orbital stations, spacecraft and space activities.”

The Department of Defense did not say what kind of weapon was used in the test, or where exactly the test took place – although US analysts believe it was an A-235 PL-19 Nudol “satellite killer” missile fired from the Plesetsk- cosmodrome.

He has observed the “disastrous” way Russia has waged the war, while watching Ukraine change its tactics during the battle.

Although he described the war in the Telegraph as a “despicable, terrible war,” he said he was pleasantly surprised that the belligerent country failed to achieve its war objectives.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has regularly praised Britain’s involvement in the war, calling the country “brave” and praising ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
