Perth aged care worker, 27, charged over alleged ‘sickening’ sex assault on incapacitated 80-year-old man at a facility

A 27-year-old aged care worker has been charged with indecently assaulting an incapacitated male nursing home resident in his 80s.

Police said on Tuesday the “sickening” attack on a vulnerable man is believed to have occurred at a retirement home in Perth’s western suburbs on March 22.

The suspect is a male NDIS worker who attends a number of aged care facilities in the area, police said on Tuesday.

Detectives from the Sex Assault Squad have charged the man, who lives in the western Perth suburb of Marangaroo, with three counts of indecent dealing with an incapacitated person on Saturday.

The man has been taken into custody and is being admitted will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 2.
