UFC flyweight Andre Lima was bitten by his opponent during a fight last weekend, but he actually feels bad for Igor Severino now that he’s lost his job.

The 20-year-old Severino was making his UFC debut in Las Vegas when he bit Lima’s arm about halfway through the fight, leaving visible marks and prompting cries of pain from Lima.

That bite disqualified Severino, and UFC president Dana White quickly removed him from the roster. That’s something Lima actually feels sorry for.

“I’m so sorry, honestly,” Lima told TMZ Sports on Monday. “I’m sad for him because he came from the same, the struggle that I did. He has a family… bright future.

“I feel so much for him because I know that the same journey I’ve been on, he’s on it too. I feel sorry for him.’

Lima even said he’s interested in a rematch with Severino – on the off chance he ever gets back into the UFC.

To top it all off, Lima got a tattoo of the bite mark Severino left on his arm – and received a $50,000 bonus from White for going through the trauma.

“I want to help my mom and some people in my family,” Lima told TMZ when asked what he was going to do with the money.

‘I want to buy a car. That’s something I’ve wanted for a long time and now I can buy my car.’

Lima hopes this incident is not what he is remembered for: he says he wants to become world champion.
