Katie Couric received well wishes from some of her closest friends on Monday after announcing she is a new grandmother.
Sharon Stone said “God bless” while Mandy Moore wrote: “Congratulations everyone!!! And this song!! Katie!!!’ and Helena Christensen sent a red heart emoji.
Lisa Rinna wrote: ‘Congratulations!!! He is pretty!’ Julianne Moore said: ‘Congratulations!!! He is pretty.’ And workout guru Denise Austin commented: ‘Congratulations!!!!!! So wonderful!!! Xoxo.”
This comes the day after Katie said she had a first time grandmother.
The former Today Show host, 67, shared that her daughter Ellie, 32, and her husband Mark Dobrosky had a son.
And the child is named after her late husband and her daughters Ellie and Carrie, 28, father Jay Monahan.
Monahan was a lawyer who died of colon cancer in 1998 at the age of 42.

Couric wrote in a caption to her 1.7 million followers: “John Albert Dobrosky was born on his due date, Saturday March 23rd at 8:23 am, just under seven pounds.
“He will be named Jay in honor of his maternal grandfather. Albert is after Mark’s grandfather,” she continued.
Katie and Jay had been married for nine years at the time of his death.
Couric opened up about her husbands in recent days in a 2021 interview Today’s show.
“I was so worried about letting go of hope because I didn’t want Jay to spend the time he had left waiting for him to die,” Couric said.
“I think it takes extraordinary courage to face death, and honestly, I think I was too scared.”
She also wrote about those moments in her 2021 memoir Going There.
“I did everything I could to keep Jay alive,” Couric wrote. “Looking back, I wish I had helped him more when he died.”
Since Monahan’s death, Katie founded Stand Up to Cancer and has dedicated herself to educating the public about colon cancer.
Colon cancer is the second leading cause of death among men and women in the United States and claimed the life of Chadwick Boseman at age 43.
In March 2000, Katie underwent a colonoscopy on live TV to highlight the importance of the preventive measure.

Couric opened up about her husbands in recent days in a 2021 interview on The Today Show. “I was so worried about letting go of hope because I didn’t want Jay to spend the time he had left waiting for him to die,” Couric said.
At the time of Jay’s death, Couric said focusing on her work kept her grounded Today.
“Work was my salvation,” Couric said.
“If I were doing a cooking portion, I wouldn’t be able to think about Jay’s last scan. It has helped me keep my sanity.”
Couric healed and found love again with banker John Molner, whom she married in 2014.
