Moment dad is arrested after repeatedly complaining to his son’s school that he had too much homework and warning the principal he’d ‘better get his big boy pants on’

This is when an Ohio father was arrested after repeatedly calling his son’s school to complain about the amount of homework he was being assigned.

Adam Sizemore, 37, of Oxford, was charged with telecommunications harassment and threats after bombarding Kramer Elementary School with his phone calls.

Criminal complaints filed against Sizemore allege he also threatened the school’s principal by saying he “better put on his big boy pants,” leading school officials to fear violence. WXIX reported.

According to a police report sent to Today of the Oxford Police Department, Sizemore made the repeated complaints beginning Feb. 29 “because his son is given homework, which takes up his time after school.”

The father attempted to reach Principal Jason Merz, who was unavailable, before he began making his nuisance calls to the school office.

“During these conversations, Sizemore swore at the secretaries while making demands of them,” the police report said.

The officer said he noticed Sizemore’s speech was slurred and asked Sizemore if he was drunk.

Sizemore made it clear that he was “high,” Today reported.

The calls continued to come in, and on March 1, Merz told police that Sizemore said in a voicemail, “I was hoping you would put on your big boy pants today and have a conversation like a big boy.”

Merz told officers he was concerned about Sizemore possibly entering the school.

Two officers then reportedly visited Sizemore’s home, but he did not answer the door.

But when an officer returned to Kramer Elementary School, Sizemore was still calling.

The report said Sizemore eventually reached Merz, but the director quickly hung up after the irate father began cursing at him.

When the school stopped answering Sizemore’s calls, Oxford Police detectives said he started calling them.

“He calls 911, I think it was about 18 or 19 times,” said Detective Adam Price of the Oxford Police Department.

“It was disruptive,” Price told Today.

“This is a primary and secondary school, so there is not an abnormal amount of homework,” he added.

On audio recordings, the father can be heard becoming irritated when a dispatcher refused to tell him their name.

The dispatcher was heard telling Sizemore to leave a voicemail with the police chief if he didn’t answer his call, to which he replied, “I’m very nice.”

The dispatcher offered Sizemore the chance to come to the station where they would call the chief so the pair could communicate in person, but Sizemore completely lost his patience.

“He can come to my damn house. I pay for him. He can come to my house,” Sizemore was heard saying.

After repeated calls to the station, Sizemore was still unable to reach the police chief.

But a dispatcher told the irate father that after his repeated calls, they would send officers to talk to him.

“That finally came to an end when we took him into custody on telecommunications harassment and threatening charges,” Price explained.

Price said today that if Sizemore is found guilty of his charges — two counts of telecommunications harassment (a first-degree felony) and one count of menacing (a fourth-degree misdemeanor) — he will face a fine of up to $ 1,000 and can be jailed for up to six months. jail for each count of telecommunications harassment.

For this menacing charge, Sizemore faces a $250 fine and up to 30 days in jail.

Following his arrest, Sizemore was taken to the Butler County Jail, but Price revealed he is no longer in custody.

Speaking to Today, the dad said: ‘I’m a single dad of a boy and a girl and I’m just trying to do my best and that’s all I can do. People make mistakes.’

Sizemore is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.
