Urgent recall issued for popular Asian food sold across Australia

Consumers who recently purchased dumplings and egg rolls sold at Asian supermarkets in multiple states are urged to check if they have been recalled due to allergy concerns.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) has recalled a number of Bibigo dumplings and Cau Tre spring rolls manufactured by CJ Nutracon Pty Ltd due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.

The affected products include:

  • Bibigo mini mandu shrimp dumpling 360g (best before June 14, 2024)
  • Bibigo mini mandu shrimp dumpling 350g (best before June 14, 2024)
  • Cau Tre spring roll 500g (best before April 20, 2024, April 21, 2024, August 18, 2024, August 19, 2024, October 20, 2024, October 22, 2024, June 15, 2025, September 7, 2025 and September 8, 2025)
  • Cau Tre spring roll 480g (best before April 21, 2024, September 19, 2024, October 22, 2024, June 15, 2025 and September 7, 2025)

The products have been sold in Asian supermarkets in NSW, the ACT and Queensland.

The food safety regulator warned consumers with an egg allergy or intolerance not to eat the products as they could suffer a reaction if consumed.

“Consumers should return the product(s) to the place of purchase or contact CJ Foods Australia for a full refund,” the watchdog warned.

“All consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
