Four killed at Hungarian rally after race car crashes into spectators
A rally car veered off the road and crashed into a group of spectators in Hungary on Sunday, killing four people and injuring several others, police said.
The accident occurred during a race between the towns of Labatlan and Bajot near the Danube River in northwestern Hungary, Komárom-Esztergom police said in a statement.
According to the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, eight ambulances and four helicopters were sent to the scene. Two people, including one child, suffered serious injuries, while six others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Videos on social media showed a car losing traction on a paved road before sliding into spectators who had gathered to watch the race. Organizers stopped the race after the crash.
