Hilarious old Jason Kelce inteview shared by Cincinnati Bearcats goes viral

Hilarious old footage of Jason Kelce awkwardly interviewing a former Cincinnati Bearcats teammate has gone viral online, as the recently retired NFL pro returns to New Heights Live alongside his brother Travis next month.

The video, shared Thursday by the Bearcats’ official X (Twitter) account, shows the former Eagles center interviewing one of his “best friends on the team,” former left tackle Jeff Linkenbach, for gobearcats .com.

“So Jeff,” Jason said first before catching his breath as he seemed nervous on camera. ‘What are your expectations for this year?’

“Another Big East Championship this year,” Jeff replied, as Jason immediately said afterward, “That’s what I’m talking about!” We’re on the same page here.’

Jason then unexpectedly pauses the interview because he is distracted by some chatter in the background of the interview set.

“Are you really going to interrupt the interview like that?” he asks a teammate lurking inside the Bearcats’ James Gamble Nippert Memorial Stadium, as Linkenbach chuckles to himself.

Preoccupied with what’s happening around him and not the interview, Jason proceeds to call out some of the Bearcats’ defensive players who successfully threw him away in the first place.

“So, um, back to the interview with me and Jeff,” Jason says after realizing that Linkenbach had only been asked one question so far during their time together on camera.

“So, like you’re a senior this year, what was it like playing for the University of Cincinnati?” he asked Linkenbach, who replied, “It was great, Jason. Came in, who knows, you know? First year, 4-7 or whatever, and now one Big East Championship and I have yet to win another one this year.”

“Great, great,” Jason replies, trying to think of a follow-up question. “Um, I went to the Orange Bowl last year. How did you feel about that?’

“I was a little disappointed with the end result, but it was a great feeling to be in Miami, you know, to get there. But disappointed with the end result,” Linkenbach responds.

Apparently more sure of himself at this point in their conversation than at the beginning of the interview, Jason asks his teammate, “What will the offensive line be like this year?”

“We look very strong, especially on the left side,” Linkenbach said first, before giving credit where credit is due. “We have Jason Kelce and Chris Jerrick at center back. You know, Sam Griffin is pretty good. This also applies to Alex Hofman. So I mean… and we have a lot of depth in CJ Cobb and Randy Martinez. We just look good everywhere.

Jason sides with his teammate and confirms to Linkenbach, “Yes, we are stacked.”

He then asks the left tackle, “If you could make one play, what would it be?”

“It should be one of the inside zone plays, so I can block with my good friend Jason Kelce,” Linkenbach replies, before Jason interjects, “We kind of like blocking.”

The interviewer (Jason) then asks the interviewee to kill some time, “What’s your favorite food?”

“Pizza, there’s no doubt about it,” Linkenbach says before Jason points out to his teammate that his answer is “a good” twice.

Once again distracted by other teammates bombarding his interview with Linkenbach, Jason proceeds to give a shoutout to former Bearcats wide receiver Marcus Barnett, who then comes on set and says, “How’s it going?”

“He just wanted to say hi,” Jason says to the camera before returning to the interview. “Okay, camp has started, camp has already started… how are you feeling now?”

“I feel good,” Linkenbach replies, adding that he is getting used to “the situation and everything.”

“Okay, Jeff, thanks for taking the time to talk to me and going to Bears. (…) Go bearcats.’ Jason says as a way to wrap up the cringe interview.
