Billionaire Miami real estate tycoon Patrick Carroll is taken for police-mandated health evaluation after posting unhinged Instagram videos threatening cops and shooting off boat
A Florida real estate mogul has been ordered by police to undergo a mental health evaluation after posting clips of him firing guns and ranting about the Second Amendment outside his Miami Beach mansion.
Patrick Carroll, a developer whose antics have earned him more than a million followers on Instagram, shared and deleted on Thursday a clip of himself wearing a MAGA hat and firing a shotgun at a boat near his $1,000 waterfront home 19.5 million.
The businessman, 45, said he fired blanks, but the event prompted his neighbors to call 911, resulting in the evaluation order – which will also force him to give up his firearms within 72 hours.

Carroll, a billionaire who reportedly sold his company for $80 million last year, has been ordered under Florida’s Red Flag law to undergo a mental health evaluation and surrender all his firearms.
Miami Beach Police Department spokesman Christpher Bass said after police were called to Carroll’s home, “he was transported to a local health care facility for a mental health evaluation.”
‘A risk protection order has been issued. This investigation continues,” Bass said.
In the clip that led to police being called to his home, Carroll was seen standing at the front of a small yacht while straddling a shotgun.
Wearing a Make America Great Again hat and a white towel, Carroll fired the shotgun three times into the air with a big grin on his face.
Someone filming tells Carroll to “be careful Pat,” to which he responds, “Shut up.”
Before it was deleted, he captioned the video: “These are the only blanks I shoot.”
Carroll, a billionaire, has shown his love for Trump well beyond just donning his famous red cap, as in February he got a tattoo of the former president’s mugshot on his arm.
In another clip shared by Real Deal, Carroll was seen on a yacht shirtless with the Trump hat still on, ranting about his Second Amendment rights. It is not clear when the video was posted.

The billionaire described himself as a “strong supporter of guns” and emphasized that “what I do is try to tell my followers and fans that you better learn to protect yourself”

“You know, it’s a Second Amendment, so it’s my right to govern,” he continued. “I did it the right way, I was trained and I have a concealed carry permit.”
As he turned the camera toward the ocean, he noted that he was “way offshore,” emphasizing that “I know how to handle these weapons.”
“So all I’m putting out here are things that people are afraid of, but that I can do, and it’s all good.
“People might say, ‘Oh god, he’s shooting things, look at him, he’s crazy’ – no, what I’m doing is trying to tell my followers and fans that you better learn to protect yourself.

Although he reportedly claimed that police “laughed it off” after he explained that he was firing blanks, police have ordered Carroll to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Florida police have also used the state’s Red Flag law to obtain a court order that will force Carroll to give up all of his firearms within 72 hours.

The Red Flag law was introduced in 2018 after the mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 people dead and 17 others injured.
The legislation allows officers to seek court orders to temporarily ban individuals from purchasing and possessing firearms if they are deemed dangerous.
In April 2023, Carroll was accused of spitting in the face of a manager at a luxury restaurant in Miami, which the manager said happened after he stopped Carroll from harassing a woman at a nearby table, reports Real deal.
He denied spitting and his lawyer said it was an argument after the manager “uttered so-called fighting words.”
Carroll has continued to share riotous rants and erratic behavior on his social media since police were called to his home on Thursday, including filming himself berating the manager of a Rolls-Royce dealership.
He is also embroiled in a public feud with nightclub owner David Grutman after Carroll said he was told not to film at his LIV nightclub in Miami Beach.
In messages to Grutman that he allegedly shared, Carroll said: “F*** you fat boy. I’m going to bankrupt you. Steal your wife if I want to, and much more. You confused my kindness with weakness.”
In a response from Grutman shared by Carroll, the nightclub told him, “I hope you get help.”
“I hope you get the attention you’re looking for and unfortunately I think you’re going to end up dead… Everyone is (tuned in) to your self-destruction and I know you can be better than this,” he said.
