Missing man’s decomposing body is found at the side of a road in the Outback

The decomposing remains of a missing man have been discovered by the side of a road in the Outback.

The man’s body was found just before 2pm on Wednesday on the side of the Stuart Highway, about 25km north of the Devils Marbles in the Northern Territory.

Police assume that the man may have died after falling from a car NT news reported.

“The man has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a man in his 30s who was reported missing and was last seen by his family on Thursday evening,” Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said.

“The body was in an advanced state of decomposition and had probably been lying by the side of the road for five days.”

Investigations continue.
