Dyson’s powerful 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum cleaner finally lands in the US
Dyson’s latest high-end robot vacuum cleaner, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav, has reached the shores of North America after spending more than eight months in Britain and Australia.
You can see it as the successor to the old Dyson 360 Eye model from 2017. In the middle of the Fish Nav is a camera with a fisheye lens that can see 360 degrees, giving the machine a full panoramic view of your home. All the visual information it records is then processed through the built-in system, creating a map. He knows the layout of your home, including where the furniture is located, and even notes areas where dust tends to accumulate.
Of course you have the option to make immediate adjustments via the MyDyson app. Using a mobile device, owners can create cleaning schedules for the robot vacuum cleaner and even instruct it to avoid certain areas of their home. The Vis Nav is compatible with both Google Home and Alexa, allowing you to control it with simple voice commands.
Notable features
One of the things the company brags about about this robo-vacuum is its power. The model has a motor that can rotate at 11,000 rpm and delivers a suction power of 65 air watts (AW). If you check out our review of last year’s Vis Nav, you’ll find that in standard Auto mode it was able to completely fill its bin.
There are four separate modes in total, all of which can be activated via the aforementioned mobile app. Auto is, as the name suggests, your default ‘set it and forget it’ setting. The device cleans your floors without direct input. There is an extendable nozzle on the side that allows you to reach the difficult places on the wall. As it sweeps, the Vis Nav can dynamically adjust its suction to the side channel, so it can clean deep into the missed areas.
Then there’s Boost mode to significantly improve the vacuum’s performance when scrubbing your home. Thanks to the internal “piezo sensor” it knows when to increase the power. This piece of hardware informs the model how much dust is currently on the floor. The third is silent mode, which should mute the Vis Nav. However, if you read our review, it’s really not that quiet. The last is fast mode. According to The VergeIn this mode, open spaces are vacuumed and dirt is prevented from getting stuck in the corners.
Availability
As much as we harp on the review, it’s important to return to it because it seems like Dyson has made very few changes. The Vis Nav here in the Western Hemisphere will have both positive and negative aspects.
It looks like Dyson has improved the battery on the North American version as it now lasts up to 65 minutes on a single charge instead of 50 minutes. Charging takes 1.55 hours instead of 2.5 hours. The only thing that hasn’t changed is how expensive it is.
The 360 Vis Nav is currently on sale in the United States and Canada for $1,200 U.S. dollar/$1,500 CAD. So yeah, he’s an expensive guy. Fortunately, there are other options.
