A street performer in NYC’s Times Square was ‘conquered’ with a shin kick by a young Captain America, but it sent the comedian flying into a nearby musician.

New York comedian Esteban Romero portrayed his famous character named ‘Dontarius’ in a 2022 video that he reposted to his Instagram yesterday.

In the video, Dontarius begged a woman for money while wearing a pair of worn gray sweatpants.

After she angrily blew him away, a little boy dressed as Captain America kicked Dontarius in the shin, causing him to fall onto a musician.

The young superhero then continued to chase Dontarius and hit him repeatedly with his shield.

It is unclear if anyone was injured, but the recently surfaced video shows that everyone involved escaped unscathed.

Romero’s ‘Dontarius’ has starred in several viral videos in recent years since he started his comedy career in 2003.

Interestingly enough, Romero had things in common with his character Dontarius, as he himself was homeless for a few years.

“I’ve been a vagabond, I’ve been homeless,” he told the newspaper New York Post in 2022.

Romero revealed that he had been squatting in a Brooklyn building and sleeping on the subway from 2013 to 2019.

His character Dontarius has been featured in videos filmed in New York City subway stations. A notable video that went viral on social media in 2023 featured his character taking on Spider-Man in a subway station on Utica Avenue.

Spider-Man ultimately won and it led to Romero’s ‘Dontarius’ being pulled down the stairs by the superhero.

Romero also posted a video of his Dontarius character on the subway yesterday and he wasn’t exactly begging for money.

Instead, Dontarius was angry at a passenger who stepped on his new sneakers.

Romero started yelling and screaming and eventually pushed the passenger against the doors and threw him out of the subway.

Since he shared the videos, Instagram users have added several laughing emojis in the comment sections.

Instagram users who didn’t provide laughing emojis mentioned the little boy and woman in the video.

“A woman with standards, rare,” one user joked in the comments section.

Some Instagram users who commented on the original 2022 video showed how they recognize Dontarius.

“Ayo, that’s the same man who stole that rice from that woman on the train,” one person wrote.

One Instagrammer quickly realized that the video itself was a prank and that everything was planned.
