Trump’s ‘list of running mates GROWS as star candidates don’t impress him’ – while insiders warn of a huge snub to ally
Donald Trump has said that none of the current front-runners for vice president impress him – and he has even reportedly rejected favorite Vivek Ramaswamy.
The 77-year-old Trump has personally told former multi-millionaire biotech executive Ramaswamy that he will not be his vice presidential choice. according to Bloombergas he judges candidates on their loyalty and dress sense.
Sources briefed on the conversation told the network that Trump was instead looking to him for a Cabinet post — possibly secretary of homeland security.
He was a heavy favorite for the position and many saw him as the ideal complement to Trump after he immediately fell behind the former president after abandoning his own bid.
But Trump reportedly favors North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Rep. Elise Stefanik and former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.

Ramaswamy was a firm favorite for the role, with the pair appearing close in recent weeks
Anonymous sources told the network that Trump is in discussions with many of his allies about possible administration positions.
He reportedly judges them on criteria of loyalty, ideology and electoral power, but he also wants them to be successful, independently wealthy and well-dressed.
His son-in-law Jared Kushner offers help and suggestions, while his son Donald Trump Jr. has reportedly expressed interest in playing a key role in conversations that take place over long meals at his Mar-a-Lago club.
Ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is seen as a top favorite to serve as chief of staff, while Senate Republicans Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas are seen as possibilities for attorney general.
But Jason Miller, a senior Trump campaign adviser, told Bloomberg it’s too early to say who he will pick: “The truth is, this is all bs unless you hear it directly from President Trump or his campaign.”
As his running mate, Trump reportedly wants someone who is not motivated by the spotlight and says he is not impressed by the names currently circulating.
Last week, Trump said he had already ruled out a number of possible vice-presidential candidates because they had “not behaved properly.” He then bragged that he could get anyone on his ticket, including a Democrat.

Dozens of names have been floated as possible contenders for Trump’s presidential ticket.
However, he did tell Newsmax host Greg Kelly that he has ruled out some, although he declined to say who.
‘Some people I felt weren’t behaving properly. Yes, I think I excluded some people, but I excluded a lot of people.
“We have a lot of great people in the region Republican partyand they’ll do a great job, I think, but I certainly have people that I wouldn’t want as vice president,” Trump said.”
Ramaswamy had has been hanging out with Trump since he dropped his own presidential bid.
He and his wife were spotted with Donald and Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago last month, in another sign of bonding.
But he has no political experience and many saw his comments on foreign policy and other issues as extreme. A Fox poll found that twice as many Americans disliked him as disliked him.
At CPAC, a gathering of conservative activists, Ramaswamy joined South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem for their choice for Trump’s running mate.
Trump has noted that he has a lot of options, saying, “We have really great people who want it. People have expressed, I don’t mean interest, they’ve said, “I’d like to be vice president.”

‘There is no one in politics who doesn’t want that, and that includes the Democrats. “If I wanted to, I could have a Democrat, a liberal, anyone I want,” he added.
There are several factors Trump is reportedly considering when choosing a vice president. Loyalty is paramount: a quality that the former president values above all else.
He is also concerned about the abortion issue, NBC News reported, because Trump sees it as a major advantage for Democrats and a vulnerability for Republicans. Democrats have successfully used the issue to get their voters — especially women — to the polls in the 2022 midterm elections.
When it comes to how he will make his decision, Trump told Newsmax’it’s a formal process that’s in my head. It’s like I’m looking at the same people everyone else is looking at.’
“But we are going to elect someone who is very good, very conservative, who loves law and order, low taxes, low interest rates and borders,” he noted.
