Andy Cohen pays emotional tribute to Natasha Richardson as he marks 15th anniversary of her tragic death aged 45 in skiing accident: ‘She was perfectly marvelous’
Andy Cohen paid an emotional tribute to his late girlfriend Natasha Richardson on Monday on the 15th anniversary of her tragic death at the age of just 45.
The Watch What Happens Live host, 55, shared some sweet photos of Richardson — who was married to Liam Neeson — and other friends as he praised the “utterly wonderful” actress.
“Fifteen years ago today, heaven got a new angel,” he began in the caption.
Cohen added, “Natasha was ‘Perfectly Marvelous’… and left a profound impact on her friends, and on the millions she touched as an artist.”
Richardson died of an epidural hematoma on March 18, 2009, two days after she suffered a head injury in a skiing accident. She was 45.

Cohen gave a glimpse into their friendship with photos of them dancing together, vacationing and attending red carpet events.
The images also featured Richardson’s widower Liam Neeson and friends Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Ralph Fiennes and Kristen Johnson.
“I’m trying to put into words the effect she had on my personal journey and one way I think she is is that she opened a window on the world that I had never even thought about,” Cohen wrote.
He praised Richardson for teaching him “about ‘the good life’ in all senses of the word (art, travel, food, wine, fashion).
“But otherwise, she was dogmatic about the importance of community, shared experiences, kindness, manners, laughter and love – all the really important things in life,” he continued.
“I think there was a part of me during those magical years when she was the leader of the best things in life that knew that this lightning in a bottle couldn’t last forever,” Cohen said. “I certainly appreciated that time then, and it lives in me forever.”
Cohen added that Richardson would be “disgusted by the rise of social media and the current state of the world and politics, but she would have remained the center of gravity for her family and friends who all lovingly hovered around her.”

The British actress was known for her roles in films like 1990 The Handmaid’s Tale adaptation, Parent Trap (1998), Maid in Manhattan (2002) and Wild Child (2008).
