Wheelie bin body find: Another appalling crime allegedly occurs at Point Cook, Melbourne home of Chaithanya ‘Swetha’ Madhagani

Two people allegedly broke into the home of Chaithanya ‘Swetha’ Madhagani just days after her body was found in a bin on a remote Victorian road.

The 35-year-old’s body was found in a green bin on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, west of Geelong, at noon on Saturday, March 9.

Homicide squad detectives have said they want to speak to her husband, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, who reportedly fled to India with their three-year-old son Arya.

Daily Mail Australia understands that on Wednesday, March 13, four days after her body was discovered, two people allegedly broke into Ms Madhagani’s Point Cook home and stole a car.

“Detectives from the Melton Crime Investigation Unit have arrested two people as part of their investigation into a burglary at a property in Point Cook,” a Victorian Police spokesperson said.

‘The alleged perpetrators attended a property on Mirka Way at around 10.30am on March 13 and a vehicle was taken from the address.’

Police then arrested a man and a woman at a property on Kiely Avenue in Werribee at around 1pm on March 13 and found a vehicle taken from the Point Cook address.

A 32-year-old man from Werribee was charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and has been remanded in custody to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 5.

A 32-year-old woman from Werribee was released pending further inquiries and investigations remain ongoing.

“At this time, police do not believe the burglary is related to the ongoing Homicide Unit investigation related to this property.

“As that investigation is still ongoing, we cannot comment further on it,” the spokesperson said.

Last week, an Indian police spokesman said Varikuppala visited his wife’s parents in Hyderabad and left his son there.

‘Then he left. No one from the family has filed a complaint against anyone yet,” said Inspector Veera Swamy of Kushaiguda police.

‘We help with investigations when someone approaches us. At this point, we don’t know where he is because we don’t investigate the matter without any complaint.”

There is no misconduct by Mr. Varikuppala.

Victoria Police said it was limited in what it could say about the investigation.

“Due to the seriousness of the matter, there is much that we unfortunately cannot comment on as we do not wish to jeopardize the ongoing investigation,” the report said.

“This includes information about any ongoing investigations or contacts with other agencies here in Australia or internationally, or any contacts with the victim’s family.”

A candlelight vigil will take place in Point Cook on Friday evening for Ms Madhagani, who was known to her close friends as ‘Swetha’.

“Everyone is welcome to join us to commemorate her,” reads an invitation.
