But that’s been just as hard because she’s discovered that many guys on dating apps “lie” about their size – and are shocked to see how tall she actually is.

“It’s hard being that tall and a woman and dating,” she recently admitted to What’sTheJam.

“Honestly, as much as shorter men claim they enjoy being with a taller woman, they were actually insecure about it.”

Saranya explained that many guys she has matched with online have heights over 6 feet tall in their profiles.

But when she meets them in person, she is often disappointed to discover that they are actually smaller than her.

“When you’re dating behind a screen, anything can be lied to,” she continued.

“I don’t know how many times a guy has claimed he’s over six feet tall, and then I show up and realize he’s not.

‘I (once) had a match with someone who claimed he was over 6 feet tall. He was cute too, so I decided to go on the date.

“I show up and I’m looking around for this guy, but then someone comes up to me and he’s five feet tall at best.

‘He looked shocked and said, “Oh wow, I didn’t expect you to actually be that tall.” I was really confused because on Hinge my height is listed as 6 feet tall.

“He spent the rest of the night trying to convince me he was 6 feet tall – or that he was 6 feet tall if he wore the right shoes. Honestly, I should have left after I realized he lied to me.”

She called the process “frustrating” and admitted that she sometimes feels “defeated.”

“I’m starting to think I have to settle for someone shorter than me or someone my height because I get let down so often,” she said.

Growing up, Saranya said she was insecure about her height because of the nasty comments she received from her peers at school.

“I hated my height because I stood out as a woman,” she recalled of her childhood.

‘I actually started bending over because I was feeling self-conscious that my height was attracting so much attention and my partners didn’t like it.

“I’ve gotten hate (online) too, but a majority of perhaps all the negativity comes from men.

“They call me a liar, they say I’m a hypocrite, they say I should stay single.”

But now she has learned to embrace her size.

‘At first it bothered me, but now it doesn’t bother me at all. The positives really outweigh the negatives,” she concluded.

‘Now I like my height. I love every inch of it – in heels and without heels.”

Another user commented: ‘Same. I’m 6 feet tall and my sister is 6 feet tall, and men are personally and thoroughly offended by our existence.”

‘It’s not the height. I do not mind. It’s the LYING about it that shows bad character,” someone else said.

“I’m 6 foot tall looking down on the 6 foot tall man lol,” read a fourth reply.

Another user added: ‘I’m the same height as 6 feet tall. I used to tell boys I was 6 feet tall so I could see their little hearts break as I towered over them.”
