Forget UFOs, Alien Hunters Say We Should Focus on Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs)

From sightings by American submarines to mysterious humanoids in the depths of Russian lakes, there’s an even more mysterious cousin of the UFO: the USO, or Unidentified Submerged Object.

There are multiple reports from USOs around the world, often from respected military and academic professionals – with some claiming that underwater ‘fast movers’ are a normal part of life aboard submarines.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Nigel Watson, author of Captured by Aliens? A History and Analysis of American Abduction Claims states: ‘We live on an ocean planet, so it is not surprising that UFOs are seen above or near the vast expanses of water that surround us.

‘Concentrations of USO observations indicate bases in the North Sea and off the coast of California and Puerto Rico.

‘USOs are just as intriguing as UAPs, but they are even more difficult to substantiate – and often get mixed up with dreams of Atlantis and aliens living in the hollow Earth.

‘Personally, to me they are a myth, like mermaids or the Loch Ness Monster.’

Pilot sees ‘dark mass’ in the water

Retired Navy Commander David Fravor

Retired US Navy Commander David Fravor, who saw the famous ‘Tic-Tac’ UFO in 2004, described how a fellow pilot revealed to him an encounter with a USO.

The pilot said he saw a ‘dark mass’, which he described as ‘large’ and ‘quite round’, and that it was not a submarine.

Fravor told the Joe Rogan podcast that the helicopter dropped a swimmer into the water to retrieve ammunition.

He said, “The first time they were out and picking up ammunition, he was sitting in the front – in the CH-53 you can look down at your feet – and as he looks down they are 50 feet away. above the water he sees this kind of dark mass coming from the depths.”

“He looks at this thing and goes, ‘What the hell is that?’ And then it just goes back under water. As soon as they get the kid and the ammunition out of the water, this object descends back into the depths.’

The pilot who retrieved spent practice ammunition from the sea in a US Navy MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter said a practice torpedo he was supposed to recover was “sucked” by another object in the sea.

The torpedo never surfaced again.

The encounter took place in the sea near Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, Fravor said.

The UFOs of Guantánamo Bay

Did Marines see USOs in the late 1960s?

In the late 1960s, “heavy UFO traffic” was observed at the Guantánamo Bay base.

One ex-Marine said, “We Marines were all amazed at the amount of UFO activity on and around this base,” the witness said.

“UFOs flew overhead almost every night at an altitude of less than 300 feet.”

“Most of these UFOs were about 50 to 100 feet across, but appeared to the naked eye as a dull, blurry hull with a small red light behind them,”

The Marine – who wished to remain anonymous in an interview with paranormal sighting website MUFON – said he was unsure of the exact dates

The Marine claims he was told not to discuss the sightings, and said he saw a UFO that looked like a “big, beautiful cloud with a blue and white pulsating light.”

Underwater craft buzzes the USS Hampton submarine

A craft that moves through water faster than the speed of sound ‘whizzed past’ the USS Hampton submarine, a professor has claimed.

Professor Bob McGwier of Virginia Tech and the Institute for Defense Analyzes said the sonar on board the craft detected a USO moving through the water faster than the speed of sound.

McGwier was on the submarine doing classified work, and says the crew chose not to investigate to focus on their mission, but didn’t tell him he couldn’t talk about the strange encounter.

In an interview with YouTube channel UAP Encounters, he said: “We were on the road and suddenly I heard a noise. It’s really strange and obvious that something is zooming past us.

“When I left there with the knowledge in my head, not being told to be quiet, not being told it was a secret… It’s up to me to tell whoever I want. They screwed up.”

The encounter with the fast-attacking submarine lasted only a few seconds, McGwier said.

The underwater alien base near Malibu

Alien hunters spotted what many described as an “alien base” 2,000 feet beneath the waves near Malibu in 2014.

When Google Earth revealed what appeared to be a “structure” beneath the waves, conspiracy fans went wild.

UFO author Preston Dennett said, “I’ve probably collected fifty to a hundred reports of people seeing UFOs going in and out of the water there.

“My problem is that the Google images look different depending on which vantage point you look at this thing from. Some show a tunnel. Some don’t.

“I’m very intrigued by the possibility. I’m convinced there’s something down there.’

However, geologists have rejected the idea that the structure is an alien base, describing the structure as ‘completely normal’.

The USOs of Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal in Siberia has been the site of multiple sightings of USOs and UFOs, beginning in the Soviet era.

Russian former naval officer turned UFO researcher Vladimir Azhazha said: “Fifty percent of UFO encounters are related to oceans. Fifteen more – to lakes. So UFOs tend to cling to water.”

Azhazha has claimed that military divers saw humanoid creatures in strange shiny suits in the water in 1982.

In more recent years, photographers have captured strange lights and mysterious craft above the lake.

The chairman of the Union of Photographers of Buryatia, Sergei Konechnykh, said in 2009: When I saw it, it flew low. Until it disappeared over the horizon, I kept looking at it. I call it a fireball, and I don’t know what it really was.’
