Fans were left in disbelief as Nelson Semedo avoided a card for a flying kick to Callum O’Hare’s face during Coventry’s dramatic 3-2 FA Cup win over Wolves.
Wolves defender Semedo took out the Coventry midfielder in the 74th minute with a horrific high boot.
O’Hare needed treatment, but the referee didn’t even give a foul for Semedo’s indiscretion and he was not punished.
Coventry reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a sensational win at Molineux, scoring twice deep into stoppage time to stun the home fans.
‘How is it possible that Semedo is still on the field?’ wrote one person on X, formerly Twitter.

‘I’m sorry. Semedo has just caught him in the face with his foot, at head height, and no free kick and no further action from VAR?!” another wrote.
‘Right, the VAR is a total mess. The kid’s nose was clearly done by Semedo Boot and they’re not sending him away? WHERE ELSE ARE YOU LOOKING?!” another commented.
‘Semedo is a very happy boy. Wow,” wrote one.
Another user put it this way: ‘Why wasn’t Nelson Semedo sent there? High foot, kick to the head, no ball. It’s a red card by the book.’
Mark Robins’ side will compete in the semi-finals at Wembley, ten months after losing in the Championship play-off final there last season.
Ellis Simms had given the Sky Blues the lead after 53 minutes through a four-minute VAR decision over a possible handball, but his goal was awarded.

Wolves thought they had broken Coventry hearts when Rayan Ait-Nouri equalized after 83 minutes and Hugo Bueno put himself ahead to keep them in front five minutes later.
But that’s not how football works.
Seven minutes into stoppage time, Ellis Simms poked Coventry level and three minutes after that, Haji Wright curled a stunning strike past Jose Sa to write his name in history.
It means Coventry will go to Wembley in the FA Cup for the first time since they won the league in 1987.
Wolves had already knocked out Brentford, West Brom and Brighton to reach the last eight and were keen to beat Coventry.

But an inspired performance from the Championship side, who are the top scorers in the FA Cup this season, broke the hearts of Gary O’Neil and his side’s followers.
Despite a torrid start to the season, perhaps a hangover from their play-off heartache, Coventry now sit eighth and just one point off sixth.
