Madonna fan who is wheelchair-bound says she is NOT offended after singer accidentally scolded her for sitting at concert: ‘She had no idea I was paralyzed’
The wheelchair-bound fan who was recently scolded by Madonna for not standing up said she was not angry about the incident.
The 65-year-old singer caused controversy when she singled out an audience member during her Celebration tour.
‘What are you doing sitting there? What do you get when you sit down?’ she asked as she paused the concert.
As she walked to the edge of the stage and approached the crowd, Madonna then realized that the fan was in a wheelchair. ‘Oh okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that,” she said afterward. ‘I am glad you are here.’
The person, a woman named Vanessa Gorman, spoke to TMZ and said she isn’t offended by the star’s blunder.
It was originally reported that the concert took place in Los Angeles, but the news channel has now revealed that it actually took place during her show in Vancouver last month.

“Some people are in wheelchairs and can stand – they had no idea I was paralyzed,” Gorman told TMZ.
The publication also stated that Vanessa was shocked that the pop star had not initially noticed that she was in a wheelchair due to its bright pink color.
She was reportedly ‘unfazed’ by the call, to which she responded by shouting how much she loves the singer.
Vanessa is paralyzed from a car accident in 1999.
She explained that she doesn’t think Madonna had any malicious intent, calling it a mistake and expressing her appreciation for the hitmaker immediately apologizing into her microphone for all to hear.
The moment was captured and shared millions of times on various social media platforms, with users criticizing the celebrity for her comments.
In the viral video, Madonna urged fans to “take this ride” with her as she was about to introduce the next song before calling out the wheelchair user.
Madonna then quickly excused herself and walked back to the center of the stage to resume her performance.
Social media users were quick to criticize her, saying her question was “offensive” and that it is none of her business if anyone chooses to sit during the show.

One Reddit user wrote, “Even if that person wasn’t in a wheelchair, maybe just had bad knees or whatever, what good does that do to anyone?”
Another person intervened and said, “Girl, bye. People pay good money to see you, don’t respect them like that.’
‘At her age she should have known better than to do this. They probably paid good money for their seats too. So rude,” one person wrote.
Concertgoers have shared their stories of sustaining injuries prior to attending a concert.
One TikTok user wrote, “I got injured right before a concert last year and the guitarist kept gesturing at me, making faces and ripping me off for sitting down. Singer also complained… I wanted to see him for years.”
Another user said: I went to a concert a few months after surgery and chemotherapy and couldn’t stand the whole time. I would be ashamed if I were called like that.’
