Indian Oil Corporation appoints Rashmi Govil as Director of Human Resources
Rashmi Govil has taken over as Director (Human Resources) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), energy giant Fortune-500 said on Friday.
“She joined IndianOil in 1994 and brings with her nearly three decades of rich experience in various facets of the HR function,” the company said in a statement.

Govil is a seasoned professional with an MBA specialized in HR and a postgraduate diploma in finance.
Before her appointment as Director (HR), she was Executive Director (HRD and Employee Relations) at the company’s headquarters.
With this increase, IndianOil now has two female functional directors on its board of directors. Sukla Mistry, director (refineries), is the other director on the board with a total of seven functional directors.
“Govil has also worked at the headquarters of IndianOil’s refineries,” the report said. “Her rich and varied experience has provided the foundation for her deep understanding of the nuances of the role, including compensation and performance management, recruitment, policy formulation, succession planning and systems administration, in addition to her recognition as an industrial relations expert.”
Known for her “results-oriented, collaborative and inclusive style”, she has formulated several strategic initiatives for both the company and the industry.

She founded the unique innovation cell ‘Srijan’, drove the rollout of enterprise-wide SAP HR solutions and led several landmark settlements with the collectives, including long-term wage settlements with IndianOil unions.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Govil has conducted the review of numerous policies with a focus on diversity, inclusion and employee well-being,” the statement said.
