Mortified A Current Affair host Ally Langdon shakes her head in shame as she suffers embarrassing gaffe during show

Ally Langdon suffered an embarrassing blunder during Wednesday night’s episode of A Current Affair.

At the end of the programme, the 44-year-old wished viewers a ‘great weekend’ despite it being midweek.

‘And that is our programme. I’m Ally Langdon. Thank you for your company and have a nice weekend,” she said before correcting the word to “evening.”

The presenter then burst out laughing and put her head in her hands as the cameras rolled off.

This isn’t the first time Ally has made an unfortunate mistake live on air, as she accidentally mentioned an American football team by the wrong name while hosting the Today show in 2022.

Current Affair host Ally Langdon made an embarrassing blunder as she wished viewers a ‘great weekend’ on Wednesday night

While reporting on the previous day’s NFL clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams, she incorrectly referred to the 49ers as the “69ers.”

A sixty-nine is a sexual position in which two people perform oral sex on each other, usually with the woman on top of the man, forming a shape similar to the number 69.

“I guess we’ll leave here in the morning and we’ll all go home to raise our kids,” she began.

“It looks like they didn’t do any of these things yesterday,” she added, referring to Today host Karl Stefanovic and newsreader Alex Cullen.

“They were watching a football game in America: the Rams (vs.) the San Francisco 69ers.”

Her co-hosts were left speechless for a moment as several crew members were heard laughing and gasping in the background.

Wow! 49ers!’ said Alex, who corrected her, prompting Karl to joke that Allison’s suggestion “sounds a lot more interesting” than watching a football game.

The presenters did not stop there and continued to question their red-faced colleague, who buried her head in her hands in shame.

“Yes, a lot of people might pay to see them,” Alex pointed out, to which Karl replied, “That’s much harder to explain to your wife!”

Allison tried to redeem herself by continuing her story about the boys watching NFL instead of spending time with their families.

“The point is you were watching football…” she said, before Karl interrupted her with, “No, point taken!”
