Dan Tehan divorce: Liberal MP and the mother of his five children split up after almost 20 years of marriage
Coalition immigration spokesman Dan Tehan has divorced his wife and the mother of his five children after nearly two decades of marriage.
Mr Tehan quietly made changes to his register of interests this month, altering and removing any reference to his wife Sarah.
In a statement, Mr Tehan told Daily Mail Australia: “Sarah and I have mutually agreed to end our relationship while we continue to focus on raising our young adult children.
“We ask that you respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
Mr Tehan has two properties to his name, including the farm in Hamilton that the couple have called home since 2016.

But a further five properties were registered in Ms Tehan’s name. They have now been removed from his register of interests.
The couple has been together for almost twenty years and shares adult children Oliver, Tim, Amelia, Maya and Eleanor.
In addition to the removal of Ms Tehan’s property, her access to the Qantas Chairman’s Lounge and Virgin Australia Club Lounge has been removed from the report.
Mr Tehan serves as the Coalition’s spokesman on immigration, and has recently been on a crusade against his Labor counterpart, Minister Andrew Giles, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to release immigration detainees into the community.

He was first elected to represent the community of Wannon, which stretches from South Australia to Victoria, in 2010.
He held several portfolios during the government’s coalition era, including as Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister of Education.
During his first speech to parliament, Tehan thanked his wife Sarah for everything she had done.
“We have built a family through love and sheer hard work that brings me such joy that words cannot describe,” he said.
‘To our children Oliver, Tim, Amelia, Maya and last but not least Eleanor (wave a wave boys). You have all had to make great sacrifices so that I can be here today.
“I want you to know that I’m here because I believe in your future.”
