Domino’s Australia reveals brand new menu item – but it’s leaving customers divided: ‘Absolutely grotesque’

Domino’s has unveiled its newest menu item: the Cheese Volcano.

The new $10 side, described as “grotesque” by the restaurant’s spokesperson, takes Australia’s love of cheese and devotion to cob loaf to a new level.

The bowl is made of pizza dough, filled with Mozzarella cheese and filled with ‘melted hot’ cheese.

It can be purchased with or without a side of ‘dipping’ crinkle chips.

Domino’s Chief Marketing Officer ANZ Allan Collins said this was just the start of inspiring new products dedicated to all things cheese.

“We’re giving customers more of what they love by promoting everyone’s favorite pizza topping like never before,” he said.

Domino’s Head of Product Development & Innovation, Michael Treacy, said the company spent three years developing a tastier, stretchy cheese that customers could only get from Domino’s.

“Cheese is a key ingredient on any pizza, but it is so versatile and beloved that it can make any meal unforgettable,” Treacy said.

Cheese seems to be the star of the show at the chain right now.

Domino’s has released Triple Cheese Bites, available for $7, packed with melt-in-your-mouth Mozzarella, Cheddar and Parmesan for delicious bite-sized indulgence, as well as $2 Extra Cheese upgrades on every large pizza.
