“Jono flew to Perth the next few days which was great… I was so happy to have him in Perth and he gets to stay at my house and get to know me and my surroundings a little better,” she revealed.
Lauren’s absence posed a major challenge for the show’s producers, as she is one of the most popular contestants on the show.
“Without her there would be no show,” a source pointed out. “Everything was kind of on hold until she came back.”
Revealing the severity of her condition, she said: ‘I woke up the weekend before and my arm was completely purple, really swollen… I had to fly back to Perth so I could have exploratory surgery to remove the clot. and missed a week of filming’
Producers had to look for alternative plans and ultimately opted to film “filler episodes” with the other couples while Lauren recovered.
Despite her absence, Lauren remained involved in the events of the show and even offered Jonathan guidance for the upcoming dinner party.
“I was totally coaching him to go to that dinner alone… I was like, ‘Okay, this is what you need to do,’” she said.
