Grace Tame reveals she is getting her powerful tattoos removed as she joins Jesinta Franklin at Marie Claire International Women’s Day lunch

2021 Australian of the Year Grace Tame shared a glimpse of her tattoo removal process as she attended the Marie Claire International Women’s Day lunch on Friday.

The 28-year-old, an activist and sexual assault survivor, revealed her faded ink as she posed at the star-studded event.

She dressed to impress in a figure-hugging blue mini dress with a slit.

Grace had a long snake tattoo that wraps around her wrist and appears to be being removed.

The word “FLOSSY” is also engraved on her collarbone, a slang word meaning “ostentatious,” and “OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN” on her forearm, a nod to a Walt Whitman poem.

Grace previously said her tattoos helped her overcome the trauma of being sexually assaulted by her high school math teacher at the age of 15.

She also has the phrase ‘EAT MY FEAR’ inked on her hand.

Grace previously explained the meaning behind her hand tattoo when she appeared on ABC’s Q&A show.

“It’s about recognizing fears and negativity that naturally exist in the world,” she said.

‘But be prepared to swallow that and still do things and actually convert that negative energy into positivity that can give you energy for the rest of your life.’

“That’s what predators weaponize – they weaponize our fear. That is the basis of their psychological manipulation, a major part of long-term sexual abuse.’

“I say, no, let’s take it back to their hearts, where it belongs.”
