Hannah Spearritt ‘will NOT be returning for Sunday’s Dancing On Ice final after being left heartbroken at being sent home second’

It would be her big comeback to showbiz after plans to reunite with S Club 7 fell apart dramatically.

But Hannah Spearritt was left heartbroken as she became only the second person to be eliminated from this year’s Dancing on Ice, and has now decided not to return for Sunday’s final, the Mail can reveal.

The former pop star, 42, has not accepted an invitation to return for the highly anticipated final episode this weekend, along with her fellow contestants.

“Of course we would love for Hannah to be part of Sunday’s finale and skate with the other 2024 cast members, but we have not yet received confirmation from Hannah or her representatives that she will be taking part in the show,” said one ITV insider.

Ms Spearritt, who pulled out of the upcoming S Club reunion shortly after the death of bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole last year, was plagued by illness during her short-lived stint on the ITV skating competition.

She suffered a “nasty fall” during rehearsals for her second skate and later revealed that she had suffered a number of illnesses during training, linked to an infection from a broken tooth.

Her health problems, including flu and norovirus, caused her to miss a number of rehearsals, putting her behind.

She then scored just 20 of a possible 40 points for her Frozen-inspired skate in the second week with professional partner Andy Buchanan and suffered an early eviction.

‘The show starts in three hours, I fell. It just reminds us that what we’re doing is quite dangerous,” she said in a video clip posted ahead of the live show.

Seemingly devastated by her early departure, Ms Spearritt later said she was “disappointed” in a video posted to social media.

“Of course I’m disappointed, but the standard was so high and I’m just excited to see the journey that everyone else is going to go on now,” she said.

“And they’re just such a great team, you know what it’s like. I just love Sundays, the transformation. I’m going to miss it.’

Ms Spearritt, who has suffered from an autoimmune disease since 2013, was due to join her former band on their comeback tour but pulled out after a row over contracts.

After the feud, the other members – Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – announced they would continue as a five-piece.

It’s said she was blindsided, but the announcement left her on bad terms with the band she rose to fame in in the early 2000s.

Hannah has since admitted she doesn’t know if she will ever sing with S Club again.

She talked about how “everything” changed for her after Paul’s death and gave her time to think about whether it was the right decision to rejoin the band.

Hanna said The sun: ‘Will I ever perform with them again? I just don’t know, I’m glad the tour is still going and the songs are living on, but now I’m looking forward, not back.”

She explained that after Paul’s death, she realized she couldn’t go to S Club for the tour anymore, admitting that “it just didn’t feel right.”

Hannah apologized to S Club fans for not deciding to leave, but said she had to do what was best for herself and her family.

A representative for Ms. Spearritt has been contacted for comment.
