Additionally, the Hall of Famer shared that he had a memorable on-field appearance the first time he painted his nails, and has been doing so ever since.

‘True story. One time I had a toenail that was torn off. And I had no intention of playing in the game. My mom said, “Honey, why don’t you play the game?” I thought, ‘I tore off my toenail.’

“So she did something and put some red polish on it. And I had 40 (points) that game. So I thought, ‘You know what? I’m just going to start painting my toenails.”

The seven-footer had a legendary NBA career, winning three titles with the Los Angeles Lakers and one with the Miami Heat. He also served the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics with his dominant presence before retiring in 2011.

O’Neal also had 15 All-Star selections, won the MVP award in 2000 and was crowned Finals MVP during his championship run with Los Angeles.
