Fearful Bec Judd criticises Victorian lawmakers after another aggravated Brighton home invasion: ‘You’ll have to arrest them again tonight’
Rebecca Judd has taken another swipe at Victorian lawmakers over her handling of a wave of youth crimes plaguing Melbourne’s most affluent suburbs.
On Tuesday, Victoria Police announced via X that a group of teenagers had been charged following an aggravated burglary in Brighton, the upmarket suburb where Rebecca lives.
Rebecca, 41, who lives in a $7.3 million Brighton mansion with her AFL star husband Chris and their four children, immediately reposted the announcement on Instagram Stories, along with a sarcastic caption.
‘Thank you @VictoriaPolice. They’ve probably been released on bail and you may have to arrest them again tonight. And tomorrow. And the next day,” she wrote.
Her post referenced a recent report published by the Herald Sun on the crime wave in Melbourne’s Bayside suburbs, which confirmed that 80 repeat offenders had been arrested and released more than 10 times in the past year.

The footy WAG had initially responded to this report last week, writing on Instagram Stories: ‘Victoria Police are doing their job. The legal system and state government are not.”
The footy WAG then took a direct swipe at Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, accusing her of ‘staying silent as we wonder if a gang of machete-wielding youths will enter our homes while our children sleep.’
‘Lock bail violators. Ban machetes and other weapons. There is a beginning,” she added.

It’s not the first time Rebecca has spoken publicly about her concerns about the wave of youth crime plaguing Victoria.
In January, Rebecca publicly called on Ms Allan to ‘fix the system’ following the alleged murder of Dr Ashley Gordon by two teenagers.
Rebecca said on Instagram at the time that it was sad to see how broken the justice system had become, and pleaded with Ms Allan to lock up offenders.

‘This story is so sad. The justice system is broken. Fix this Jacinta Allan. Let this be your legacy,” she wrote alongside a report on Dr Gordon’s death.
“Until the ‘prevention first’ strategy starts to work among teens (could take years. It may never work!), keep the community safe by locking up violent offenders.”
In June 2022, Rebecca made headlines again by saying she felt ‘unsafe’ in her country home, following a spate of home burglaries in her area.

On Instagram, the WAG claimed the Victorian government ‘didn’t seem to care’ about the ‘rapes, bashing and home invasions by the gangs in Bayside’.
“I personally know two women who have experienced house burglaries in Brighton in recent weeks while at home,” she said.
She also posted CCTV footage of a group of young men lurking outside properties in her affluent suburb, claiming it made her feel ‘unsafe’.
The teens, who were reportedly armed with knives, were filmed lurking outside several properties in the Bayside area before crashing a stolen BMW into a tree.
