Outrage as Kentucky Democrat says pedophiles should be allowed to have child SEX DOLLS to ‘give them a release’ – before calling them ‘minor-attracted persons’
- State Senator Berg made the comments during a committee hearing Thursday

A Kentucky Democrat has sparked outrage after suggesting pedophiles should be allowed to have child sex dolls to prevent them from abusing children.
Senator Karen Berg made the comments Thursday during a committee hearing where lawmakers discussed a bill that would make it a crime to have a sex doll styled to look like a child.
“There are so-called MAPS, Minor Attracted Persons, and the limited amount of research that’s been done on these dolls, guys, suggests that they actually – for people who are attracted to minors – actually reduce their tendency to go out and attack children.” , Berg said.
‘That it actually gives them a liberation that makes them less likely to leave the house.’
Despite her comments, Berg voted with the committee to ban the dolls, and the bill now heads to the full Senate.
Kentucky Democrat Karen Berg has sparked backlash online after she said pedophiles should be given child sex dolls as a way to prevent them from abusing children
During her remarks on Thursday, Berg said she had Googled child sex dolls the night before and research showed they could be helpful in pedophiles’ “tendencies.”
She added: ‘What was interesting is that the research did not support the same conclusions for people attracted to adults by dolls.’
The bill, HB 207, would also make it a crime to import or promote child sex dolls and include AI-generated images of children in the state law against viewing and promoting sexual abuse images of minors.
Berg’s comments began spreading online after the Republican Party of Kentucky shared a post condemning her.
They wrote: ‘This may be the most disturbing thing you see today. Watch KY Democratic Senator Karen Berg Propose Child Sex Dolls for Pedophiles. These types of disturbing proposals have no place in the Commonwealth.”
Social media users quickly began piling on criticism of the lawmaker.

One X user wrote: “‘Child sex doll’ is 3 words that don’t belong together.” Another added: Fire Karen Berg and any other Democrat who thinks like her.”
A third said: ‘Wow! As a mother I can think of more permanent solutions for pedophiles!! None of these involve a blow-up doll! ‘
Following the backlash, Berg issued a statement clarifying her position.
She said: ‘As a mother and doctor I am of course deeply concerned about the harm of pedophilia and I am sorry if my question in committee did not make that clear.
“I voted for House Bill (HB) 207 to ban child sex dolls, a position that aligns with my commitment to protect the well-being of our youth and hold perpetrators accountable.”
Berg, whose trans son died by suicide in 2022, is a fierce supporter of LGBTQ rights.

The Louisville lawmaker had spoken about her son during the legislative proceedings as she opposed Kentucky bills targeting transgender people, which have increasingly passed in Republican statehouses across the country.
That includes a 2022 law banning transgender girls and women from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity, which applies from sixth grade through college.
Berg said in a statement: “At work, Henry would be aware on a daily basis of the hateful and vile anti-trans messages circulating throughout this country and centered in his workplace.”
