New details surrounding Sam Kerr’s trial in London have been revealed after the Australian superstar was charged with a racially aggravated offence.
On Tuesday morning, Ny Breaking exclusively revealed that the Matildas captain will stand trial over the alleged incident in February next year.
The Chelsea forward appeared in court on January 30 last year charged with using abusive, threatening or insulting words that caused alarm or distress to the officer in Twickenham, south-west London.
The 30-year-old, who wore a white T-shirt under a black suit jacket as she appeared at Kingston Crown Court via videolink, spoke only to confirm her identity and enter a not guilty plea to the charges.
She was told she was required to take part in a four-day trial scheduled for February next year, during which two police officers are expected to testify.

At the time of publishing this article, Chelsea have not commented on the incident, but the team has a history of condemning racist abuse.
“The club stands firmly against any form of abuse and discriminatory behavior,” the club said in a 2023 statement after the abuse was directed at Kerr’s teammate Lauren James.
‘Discrimination has no place at Chelsea Football Club or in any community. We will take action against any individual we can identify.”
