Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari has only fond memories of his time with the pop star.

The model and actor, 29 – who split from the Toxic hitmaker, 42, in August after a year of marriage – said he holds no grudges towards his former partner, even though he was the one who filed for divorce.

‘It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” he said People on Saturday.

β€œI’ve never understood when people break up (and) talk bad about each other,” he continued. “That’s something I’m never going to do because I’ve had nothing but a great experience and a great life.”

Sam added that right now the “only woman” in his life is his dog, a Doberman named Porsha.

In August, Sam broke his silence after filing for divorce by posting an emotional message on his Instagram.

β€œAfter six years of love and devotion to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote.

He continued, “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always,” adding, “S**t happens.”

When Britney first discussed the end of their 14-month marriage in August, she told her 42.1 Instagram followers that she was “a little shocked.”

‘I honestly couldn’t take the pain anymore!!!’ she captioned a video of herself dancing in her living room.

She continued, “I’ve been playing strong for far too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that!!!”

The mother-of-two further admitted that she would ‘love’ to show her ’emotions and tears’ online, but always feels the need to ‘hide’ her ‘weaknesses’.

‘And I’m actually doing quite well!!! Anyway, have a great day and don’t forget to smile!!!’ she concluded.

The latest details about the split come after DailyMail.com revealed their relationship had entered a dark and desperate state in the final weeks of their union.

Sources revealed how Asghari thought he could ‘save’ her, but after 13 months of marriage, realized there may be no chance of ever ‘saving’ Britney.

“The reality of life with Britney was that it wasn’t fun and it’s no surprise at all that the marriage didn’t last,” the insider says.

Asghari cited “irreconcilable differences” when filing for divorce from the singer – as sources claim he felt he couldn’t leave Spears alone.

According to court documents, Asghari is asking the multimillionaire for spousal support and to cover his attorney fees.

Asghari’s attorney Neal Hersh said their finances need to be determined, despite the couple having an “ironclad” prenuptial agreement that protects the singer’s premarital assets.

The prenuptial agreement stated that he was entitled to “$1 million every two years” of their marriage, with a maximum of $10 million after fifteen years. American weekly.

He also reportedly relinquished all claims to Britney’s music collection, and his name is not listed on the deeds to their shared home.

At the time of the divorce filing, it was reported that Britney had hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser – who boasts A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Kevin Costner and Johnny Depp.

She previously enlisted Wasser’s help in 2008 when she fought with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 45, over custody of their two sons.

The exes – who split in 2006 after two years of marriage – share Jayden James, 16, and Sean Preston, 17.

A judge ordered Spears to pay $20,000 a month in child support – a decision Wasser said the Piece Of Me hitmaker felt “great” about.

Monthly payments reportedly increased to $60,000 in 2018 and Kevin has full custody of the boys.
