Alan Shearer slammed Marcus Rashford for his body language in the first half of Manchester United’s FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.
United endured a difficult first period against their opponents, going into half-time 0-0 as they looked to secure a draw against Liverpool or Southampton in the quarter-finals.
The FA Cup may have been the last hope of any success this season for United, who have had a difficult season with uncertainty over whether Erik ten Hag will be the manager next season.
Rashford was one of the club’s disappointments of the season, but United hoped he had made a point following an issue that saw him call in sick for training after being spotted at a Belfast nightclub last month.
Shearer, who works as a BBC pundit on the game, led the criticism on the striker when he called on him to take more responsibility for his actions.

‘Come on Marcus, get up. Stop waving your arms,” he said. ‘You have to do better.
‘I don’t like his body language sometimes. He’s trying to send a message to the fans, it’s not my fault. As an individual you have to take responsibility for your actions on the field from time to time. Get up and keep going.”
‘Marcus Rashford still needs to send the right message to the fans with his body language and he has not done that at times this season. He gets frustrated.’
