Ciara’s husband Russell Wilson says he knew he was destined to raise stepson Future Jr whose father is rapper Future: ‘God gave me that gift’
Russell Wilson has opened up about raising wife Ciara’s son Future Jr., whom she shares with rapper Future.
The 35-year-old NFL star sat down for a chat on the television program I am an athletewhere he got candid about fatherhood and marriage.
Speaking to host and fellow professional athlete Brandon Marshall, Wilson said he believes God has given him the responsibility of raising the nine-year-old boy.
‘You must love every child as if it were your own. That has been the greatest gift of raising Future, and Sienna, and Win, and now Amora,” he said.
The football star continued: “God gave me the opportunity to raise them, love them, care for them and teach them every day. There is no difference.
“For me, this is the greatest gift, knowing that I have the responsibility of raising these four beautiful children together.”

“Seeing Future laugh and hoop with Steph Curry, see Sienna do her gymnastics and how much she is dedicated – I swear, I think she’s going to win a gold medal with that,” the proud dad gushed.
Russell explained, “Fatherhood is a direct reflection of what God has done for us.”
‘My father always spoke life into me. He always encouraged me, he always lifted me up,” the athlete reflected on his childhood.
“I have this amazing responsibility every day at Future, at Sienna, at Win and now at Amora. It is a gift and a responsibility to love them the way God wants me to love them,” Wilson shared.
Last fall, Ciara, 37, opened up about how she realized her romantic relationship with the Atlanta-born rap artist, 40, wouldn’t work out in the long run.
While chatting on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper, the singer said it was after she and Future welcomed their child that it dawned on her that they weren’t meant to be together long-term.
“It’s almost like your taste buds change,” she said.
‘You also have to look in the mirror every now and then and think about yourself. What are things I could do differently in my life?’ she continued. ‘I’m looking for change, but what does that mean?’

She and Future (real name: Nayvadius DeMun Cash) started their relationship in 2012 and in May 2014, they welcomed son Future Zahir.
They broke up in August that year, reportedly due to the music artist’s infidelity.
The Goodies hitmaker added that she became more serious after becoming a mother, with the implication that Future didn’t have the same maturation.
‘If you have a child, that is very important to me. It’s not time to play,” she said. ‘I am now responsible for another life, so what am I doing, how do I think about that?’
In 2015, she and Russell started dating, and by March 2016, they were engaged. They tied the knot in July.
