The new clip from the Halo TV series shows an unarmored Master Chief facing down a Brute

The Halo The previous episode of the TV series ended with Reach under siege and Master Chief and the rest of the Spartans doing their best to protect what was left of the planet. But based on Polygon’s exclusive new clip from Episode 5, Chief and his team aren’t without their problems.

The clip from the episode, which debuts Thursday, shows John (Pablo Schreiber), along with a few other Spartans, including Soren (Bokeem Woodbine), as they aim down a long, silent hallway. None of the Spartans are wearing armor, as the UNSC neglected to return it to them before the Covenant Reach invaded, adding an extra layer of danger to the whole thing. Suddenly the threat reveals itself, as a huge Brute bursts through the ceiling with a gravity hammer.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Brutes in the movie Halo series. Most notably, they showed up in the final episode of Season 1, but they weren’t able to shine as much as fans of the game had hoped. This time, however, with all the Spartans out of armor, it seems that this Brute could put up quite a fight for Chief and his allies.

This excerpt comes true Halo the fifth episode of season 2. There are only three more before the eight-episode season ends.
