Indie studio Die Gute Fabrik stops production due to the ‘tough’ publishing and investment scene
Die Gute Fabrik, the indie studio behind adventure games Saltsea Chroniclesexploration title Mutazione, and more, has announced that production has ceased due to the current ‘harsh’ publishing and investment scene.
In a rack Shared on social media today (February 26), Die Gute Fabrik shared that production was paused on February 19. While the duration of this pause is indefinite, the developer confirmed that it hopes to resume later if it can secure financing. .
“The publishing and investment world is currently so tough on companies and projects of our size that it has become extremely difficult for Die Gute Fabrik to secure financing for our next project without an income gap,” the statement said.

After halting production last week, the studio used “the remaining runway to give the current team a month of paid time to catch their breath.” It continued: “We will still attempt to seek financing to resume production, but we wanted to announce this publicly so that (sick) can share with the team that they are looking for new roles.” The leadership team of Nils Deeken and Hannah Nicklin are also among those looking for work.
Furthermore, it was added that Die Gute Fabrik ApS will remain operational to serve the studio’s previous IPs.
“Production could resume again under Nils Deekenen as CEO if the company were to find financing in the coming years, and if so, we hope to welcome back our excellent employees where possible.”
