EXCLUSIVE: Euphoria star Javon Walton, 17, casts serious DOUBT over season three of the hit HBO show – admitting he’s ‘not super positive’ it will EVER be filmed… as he reveals the surprising career move that prompted him to quit series

Euphoria star Javon Walton has cast serious doubt on the future of the HBO show, admitting he’s “not super positive” it will ever be filmed.

Javon, 17, played Ashtray in both seasons of the gritty teen drama – which also stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney – but his drug-dealing character appeared to meet a grisly end in the final episode of series two.

In November 2023, it was confirmed by HBO that Euphoria will return for its third and final season in 2025, with the delay partly due to the now-resolved WGA strike and SAG-AFTRA strike, but Walton seemed unsure that the third episode will happen someday. put into production.

When asked if he thinks season three will definitely start filming, the teenager told DailyMail.com exclusively: ‘I think so…I’m not super positive about that.

“They’re leaving it open a little bit until they’re a little closer to shooting, so I’m not super positive. Maybe they’ll do another season since seasons one and two were so successful.”

DailyMail.com has contacted HBO for comment.

When asked whether or not he would say yes if asked to reprise his role as Ashtray in a flashback scene, Walton said, “I don’t think so,” before opening up about the differences between acting and being other career as a boxer. .

“I filmed season two of Euphoria when I was 14, turning 15, and on that note… being in the acting world has allowed me to work on my skills and hone them for a really long time. That.

“So when I’m on set, I just dial in and don’t really think about all the extra stuff. I just stay super dialed in on set. I’m working on my character and I don’t really see it as anything other than making a series.’

Walton has been boxing since he was four and last year he was signed by Jake Paul’s promotional company Most Valuable Promotions, and will make his global boxing debut in Puerto Rico on March 2 – which he ‘feels really good about’.

“I have trained my whole life for this one moment, and many more moments after that, but to make my global debut on such a big stage is truly an honor and I am fighting alongside Amanda Serrano, and that in itself already special,” Walton said.

The actor, who turns 18 in July, will star alongside Riley Keough and Lily Gladstone in the upcoming TV series Under the Bridge – but isn’t concerned about how boxing could potentially affect his future acting career.

“That doesn’t worry me,” he said, before adding: “I have a very slick style, I’m good at avoiding being hit and I’m a very experienced boxer. “I’ve had over 80 amateur fights and I’ve really shown myself in boxing, so that’s not really a problem for me.”

When asked how the world of boxing differs from starring on HBO’s second most watched show, Walton explained: ‘For boxing I train six days a week, twice a day, plus yoga sessions and physiotherapy, so I have I have taken this camp to the next level and I have made sure that I am as prepared as possible.

“But I feel like they both translate the work ethic… it’s like acting, but with a very high work ethic. It’s not easy being on set for six to eight months, and in boxing there really isn’t that kind of work ethic.

“You have to push yourself in the gym every day so that you can improve when you get in the ring,” Walton added, before confirming that he “feels great” about his role in the boxing industry.

“It’s something I’ve been working towards my whole life and I’m really just excited to show people my skills,” he said, before opening up about 27-year-old Jake – and his trash talk.

‘You know, you have to be able to sell those tickets! You have to put on a little mask, but he’s a super cool guy,” Walton said. “He’s very, very humble and he’s just a fun guy to be around, and I would say he’s improved a lot in the boxing game and that’s really impressive.

“He’s a great marketer and I think the most important advice (he gets) is to stay humble and stay hungry. I kind of do my own thing in the boxing game and I don’t really like all that trash talking. I’m just really looking forward to March 2 and I’m really going to do my thing in the boxing ring again.’

Walton explained that many of his fans aren’t really surprised by his latest career update because “the boxing stuff came way before the acting stuff.”

‘I had a bit of a buzz around me when I was younger in the boxing world and quite a few people know me from that. But yeah, a lot of people are starting to understand what it really is for me in boxing.”

When asked where he sees himself in five years, Walton said nothing at all about acting and replied: “Hopefully I’ll be a world champion. I’m definitely going to continue to fight and get as many fights under my belt as I can early on and just really show people what I can do.”

Walton’s comments come after fellow Euphoria star Elordi joked that season three should start filming soon so he still looks young enough to reprise his role as Nate Jacobs.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month, Elordi said, “I hope it’s soon or they’re gonna have to Benjamin Button call me or something,” before joking, “I’m gonna have a bad get your back walking down the hall, you know?’

In August 2023, Euphoria creator Sam Levinson teased limited details about the series’ third installment during an interview with Elle.

Levinson offered insight into what would happen to Zendaya’s character Rue during the show’s new batch of episodes, saying her role would be to “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world” .

He also noted that he imagines the show leaning toward “film noir.”
