A book documenting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement is on sale for just 10p at a Waterstones store less than 200 yards from Windsor Castle.
The title, ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Engagement’ by Halima Sadat, is on the shelves of the royal department at the entrance to the bookshop on the city’s main street.
The discount equates to a 98.7 percent discount on the recommended retail price of £7.99 – while the book is still available for collection at full price on the Waterstones website.
The book, surrounded by other full-priced royal titles, was published on December 14, 2017 – just 17 days after the engagement was announced on November 27.

The blurb on Batsford’s website describes the title, printed under the Pitkin brand, as a ‘very special new royal souvenir celebrating this truly modern love story’.
It also tells the “story of how the dashing prince met and fell in love with the beautiful American actress,” despite their “different backgrounds and career paths.”
It says Meghan will face “a new chapter as she becomes a senior member of the Royal Family,” adding: “We have no doubt she will embrace this duty with her natural charm and elegance.”
In addition, the book says: ‘With lavish illustrations and some never-before-seen images, this is a souvenir to treasure.’
The author, Ms. Sadat, has also written several other royal titles in recent years, including the 2018 publication “Harry & Meghan: The Royal Wedding Book.”
Harry and Meghan announced their engagement with a photocall in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace in west London before marrying at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in May 2018.

However, in early 2020 they announced they would be stepping down as senior royals before moving to the US – where they now live in Montecito, California.
Perhaps the best-known book about the couple was Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, one of the fastest-selling royal books in history.
Harry also wrote a biography, Spare, which was released in January 2023 and contained a series of royal bombshells. It is believed the Duke has signed a four-book deal.
The couple also have an £80m contract with Netflix to produce video content, although their £18m audio deal with Spotify ended early last summer.
A spokesperson for Waterstones told MailOnline: ‘This title published in 2017 has been discontinued by publisher Pitkin Publishing and is no longer available for online orders.
“It is common for our stores to include remaining sold out or damaged stock in a local clearance offer at a reduced price to make room for new books on their shelves.”
