These are the top trending baby names in Australia for 2024 – and one remains a resounding favourite
Some of Australia’s most popular baby names for 2024 have been revealed – with one favorite that has held the number one spot for a decade.
Thousands of Australian parents entered Bond’s famous Baby Search competition with their babies and the company revealed which names popped up the most.
Oliver topped the list, with the nickname the most popular Australian boy’s name in research group McCrindle’s data for more than a decade.
It appears that more boys than girls took part in the competition this year, with Noah in second place, Hudson in third and Leo in fourth.
Noah and Leo have also been regular stars in McCrindle’s top ten boys’ names, coming in at numbers two and three respectively in 2023, while Hudson came in at number eight.

The androgynous nickname Charlie came in at number five while Luca took sixth place.
Isla took sixth place and was surprisingly the only traditional girl’s name to feature in Bond’s Baby Search top 10.
It was McCrindle’s number one girl’s name in 2021 and has since risen high on the list of popular names.
Number eight was Archie, ninth was Henry and just in the top 10 came Jack.
Not only did Leo rank high in the name stats, but it was also the most common zodiac sign of all entered bubs, followed by Libra and Virgo.
Entries for the Bond’s Baby Search are now closed and the winners will be announced on Wednesday.
