Liverpool fans are furious on social media after Virgil van Dijk’s goal in the Carabao Cup final was disallowed for offside.
In a back-and-forth clash at Wembley, where both sides had chances to take the lead, Liverpool looked to have seized the initiative after Andy Robertson’s free-kick.
The Reds captain beat Ben Chilwell with the ball and fired his header past Djordje Petrovic before driving away in celebration.
However, a VAR check later revealed that Wataru Endo had been offside during the run-up, with the referees ruling that he had blocked Levi Colwill.
The decision proved highly controversial on social media, with some Liverpool fans claiming they had been robbed of an opener.
