Reese Witherspoon showers praise on Selena Gomez at the SAG Awards: ‘Your new song and video is so good!’
Reese Witherspoon and Selena Gomez shared a sweet moment as they reunited at the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Saturday night.
As the women crossed paths on the red carpet, the 47-year-old Legally Blonde star had nothing but praise for the 31-year-old singer, who dropped her flirty new single Love On earlier this week.
“Your new song and video, so good,” said the mother of three, who wore a strapless red dress from Elie Saab’s Spring 2024 haute couture collection, as Gomez approached her for a hug at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
The comment had the Only Murders in the Building beaming from ear to ear, and the pair exchanged a warm hug.

Witherspoon then placed both hands on her hips and looked more closely at her friend’s face.
After studying Gomez’s facial expression, the Oscar winner told Gomez, “You look happy.”
The Disney Channel alumnus nodded enthusiastically, before Witherspoon said she could “feel” the joy radiating from her.
Although Gomez didn’t say what made her so happy, the artist recently said her love life has never been better during her relationship with boyfriend Benny Blanco.
On Friday, the two-time Grammy nominee opened up about their romance, which they kept under wraps for six months, during an interview with Zane Lowe, which was released Friday.
“Without going into too much detail, I think it’s very important to meet someone who respects you, and I think it’s very nice to also rely on someone who understands the world I live in,” said the founder of Rare Beauty.
Gomez confirmed her relationship with Blanco in early December, revealing that they had been quietly dating for six months.
In recent months, the couple has not hesitated to venture out together on a number of occasions, including attending the Golden Globes, Emmy Awards together and sitting at a Lakers game last month.

Moreover, they both have made a habit of sharing loved-up photos on social media.
She recently showed off a diamond-encrusted ‘B’ initial on her finger, as a tribute to her new man.
Selena was previously linked to Zayn Malik and Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers and famously dated Justin Bieber from 2009 to early 2018, and The Weeknd in 2017.
Meanwhile, he previously dated Elsie Hewitt, who he apparently met on the set of his and Juice WRLD’s 2019 music video for Graduation.
Gomez fiercely defended their relationship in December after fans accused him of shading her in the past.
Selenators were especially angry about a resurfaced interview in which Benny appeared to call her a “cookie-cutter pop artist” while praising her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

“As you know, they’re like, ‘Here’s my new single and here’s my makeup line,’” he told podcast host Zach Sang in 2020.
While that could easily be a joke for Gomez — owner of makeup brand Rare Beauty — she doesn’t seem bothered by it.
When a fan slammed her as “corny” for sticking with him despite the shade, Gomez replied, “Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with.” Facts’
She also told another upset fan, who said Blanco has “cursed” the star, that “he’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
The Disney Channel alum closed it out with, “The end.”
But Gomez’s answers didn’t stop there.
One fan wrote a lengthy comment accusing Gomez of always choosing to date “crusty, problematic music men.”
They think she should pursue someone who is “a wealthy, educated, mature, handsome man who would treat her with love and respect and share the same values and life goals.”

Gomez said the analysis of himself and Blanco was “so wrong.”
She then fired back at a rude troll who suggested she “couldn’t get (a man) better” than the music producer if she wanted to.
“(LAUGHING EMOJI) I feel sorry for you,” Gomez wrote.
Selena vowed she would ‘never be with af**boy again’ – an apparent criticism of ex Justin – thanks to more than a decade of therapy.
Gomez said that if her fans “really care about me,” they will recognize that she is at her “happiest” right now.

“If you’re not interested, feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to rule my life. Someday,” she wrote.
‘I’m ready. If you can’t accept me at my happiest, then don’t be in (my) life at all.”
Some wondered if Selena and Blanco’s surprise romance was just a publicity stunt.
She insisted: “Never troll.”
Gomez then said she planned to leave Instagram “for a while” — something she has done several times in recent months — to focus on “work.”

She continued, “I’m just standing up for what I believe in. I’m not ashamed of it.
“I love my fans more than anything in the world.”
In his virtual conversation with Zach Sang, Blanco criticized his current girlfriend with a thinly veiled insult while stating that Bieber is “not one of those cookie-cutter pop artists.”
He continued, “Justin says, ‘Yo. I have a pimple and I’m scared today.’ He’s always been honest about things like that.
“For me, I think he’s really falling into himself now as an adult. It’s brave to release this song,” he added.
Benny collaborated with Justin on his song Lonely, which was released in 2021.
