Former Watford player Troy Deeney recently stirred things up by ranking top strikers.
Through TikTok, Deeney jumped on the ‘blind ranking’ trend in the Premier League, where users assign rankings without knowing which player is next.
Despite the unpredictability of the blind rankings, Deeney immediately dove in at the deep end and immediately sparked controversy by putting Andy Cole, the prolific former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers forward, at the top of his list.
Deeney praised Cole as a “legend,” immediately putting him in the top spot, a designation that raised eyebrows among fans who expected other household names to claim the top spot.
Deeney’s list, revealed in his TikTok video, continued with household names such as Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Deeney’s final rankings included Ian Wright in seventh place and Eric Cantona in ninth
Deeney ignored Liverpool star Luis Suarez by putting him in tenth place
Dennis Bergkamp came sixth and was described as a ‘beautiful player’, as did Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in second place.
However, Deeney’s decision to drop former Liverpool star Luis Suarez at the bottom of the table caused a stir.
The sacked Forest Green Rovers boss justified the choice by citing Suarez’s short spell in the English top flight.
“He wasn’t there long enough to be a Prem legend,” Deeney added.
His final list placed Andy Cole in first place, followed by Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Dennis Bergkamp, Ian Wright, Nicolas Anelka, Eric Cantona and Luis Suarez in tenth.
Fans took to the comments section to point out Deeney’s questionable logic, with many asking him to “explain Andy Cole, please.”
