Travel influencer sparks FURIOUS debate about reclining seats on planes after revealing she was ‘shoved’ by passenger behind her while trying to get comfortable on a 10-HOUR flight

A travel influencer has sparked a furious debate after revealing a fellow passenger punched her for reclining her seat during a 10-hour flight.

Taylor Futchfrom Miami, Florida, regularly shares beautiful photos of her favorite vacation spots with her more than 50,000 followers, but took to TikTok to explain her travel horror story in which someone else on the plane pushed her.

The jetsetter’s story reignited the ongoing debate over airline etiquette – just weeks after one airline passenger sparked outrage for leaning her feet on a fellow traveler’s seat and another admitted to wearing her seat belt around her ankles.

In a viral video, which has been viewed more than 2.1 million times to date, she shared that she was on a 10-hour flight back to Florida when she decided to get comfortable and recline her seat, but her need for more space left the passenger behind her in a fiery frenzy.

Taylor first shared her reaction to the fiasco while on the plane, adding that she just wanted to get comfortable and recline her seat after reaching a safe altitude.

As she sat in her window seat, she said, “All of you just pushed my seat forward and told me not to sit back for a ten hour flight because it’s too much for her. What shall I do?’

The frequent flyer then shared a follow-up video about the incident.

She explained, “Okay, this is part two of what happened when I reclined the seat on the plane.

“We’re in the air, this girl and her boyfriend are behind me with her mother. I said, “Okay, it’s a safe height, I can move my seat back.”

However, after making herself comfortable, Taylor was met with outrage from the woman behind her, who decided to shove the travel influencer.

Taylor added: ‘I was like, “What the f*** is that?” I’m on anxiety meds, I’ve been drinking a lot of wine. I was like, “B**** what? Let’s go.”

‘Her mother said, “Oh, she’s uncomfortable, it’s too small for her.” It’s a ten hour flight, I want to feel comfortable, I’m exhausted, I’ve been flying all day, this is my last flight of the day.’

Despite Taylor pleading with the passenger to let her relax, the fellow pilot and her companions didn’t budge.

Taylor noted that they then “had a seizure” and the flight attendant was called to help.

The cabin crew member told Taylor to straighten her seat while eating before walking away.

However, the travel influencer was still angry and decided to take matters into his own hands.

At the end of the clip, she said, “I was like, ‘Honestly, fuck. The entire flight I kept pushing the button and pushing my seat back because she was pushing it forward the entire damn flight. It was so annoying.

‘On a ten-hour flight you should be able to recline your seat. I told her, “If you want to be comfortable, take first class.”

Taylor’s flying fiasco caused people on the internet to start a heated debate about whether you should recline your seat when traveling.

Some viewers sided with her, adding that you should be able to sit comfortably in the seat you paid for.

One person said: ‘For those saying she shouldn’t have reclined her chair. She paid for it. She has every right to that.’

Someone else added: ‘Every chair can recline. Pay extra if you need more legroom.’

Another user wrote: ‘Agreed. I mean, it’s a long flight, what does she expect? She is also free to recline her own chair.”

A fourth person commented: ‘I would have shouted at her in front of everyone.’

One user added: ‘You deserve to be comfortable. Lean back or don’t lean back, it’s up to the seat holder. My comfort is my comfort!’

‘Is the feature there for us to use? Why else would it be possible? Kick back all day,” one commenter wrote.

“You paid for a chair that reclines, so lean back, you naughty boy!” another agreed.

“If chairs weren’t meant to recline, they wouldn’t recline,” one Reddit user typed.

Someone else weighed in: ‘I’ve literally never heard of anyone not being able to recline their seat, that’s what it’s for. I would lean back.”

However, other users criticized Taylor, saying her chair recline was “inconsiderate.”

One user said: ‘I despise people who lean back, it’s so inconsiderate.’

Another person wrote: ‘People who recline their seats shouldn’t fly.’

‘I’ve never reclined an airplane seat. I feel so guilty lol,” someone else commented.

“I’ve been on a lot of long flights and have never even thought about sitting back,” said one traveler.

One user added: ‘Do you all actually recline your chair when someone is behind you? Thats crazy.’

‘Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should do it. I wouldn’t like it if someone did it to me, so I won’t do it to them,” said one Redditor.

“Personally, I would be embarrassed if I reclined my seat at all,” said another.

One social media user wrote: ‘I absolutely love how you guys are making it really loud and clear that you don’t care if you bust other people’s knees as long as you’re comfortable.’

“I’m not going to sit back because it makes it extremely uncomfortable for the people in the back,” another user stated.

This isn’t the first time pilots have made waves over airplane etiquette.

Just two weeks ago, a frequent flyer caused a stir after demonstrating a “dangerous” travel hack that involved wearing her seatbelt around her ankles in an attempt to be “more comfortable” during her flight.

In the past, many passengers have also wondered whether you should change seats while traveling.

In December, a frequent flyer issued a PSA to fellow travelers about changing seats after experiencing a nightmare involving having to move five times when he reluctantly gave up his seat to another passenger.

The unidentified man took to Reddit to share his seat swap story that “forever changed my mind about ever being nice and trading seats with someone.”

Another frequent flyer previously revealed she refused to swap her window seat with an ‘entitled’ passenger who wanted to sit next to his wife.

The unnamed woman took to Reddit to share how she refused to move to a middle seat on an 11-hour flight from New York to Cairo, Egypt, so that the man sitting next to her could sit next to his wife.

The anonymous woman shared her story on the social media platform as a way to rant about the man under a thread captioned: ‘TitledPeople‘, prompting others on the internet to condemn the man for asking someone else to switch to a lower quality seat so he could be happy.

The denial comes months after a man sparked a furious debate when he refused to give up his first-class seat for his boss, despite using his own credit card points to do so.
