Delphi murder victim Libby German was almost DECAPITATED by killer, new probe claims – as locals query whether ‘rapist’ dead man who owned property where girls were found is real murderer

A shocking new investigation into the Delphi murders has cast doubt on the suspect charged with the brutal double murder – claiming Libby German, 14, was ‘nearly decapitated’ when she was killed with her friend Abby Williams, 13 murdered.

Few details about the girls’ cause of death have been released in the six years since their murders in February 2017, until a new CrimeNation documentary this week included claims that Libby was nearly beheaded “in anger.”

The confession was seen in text messages from someone at the scene that later leaked online, which also claimed that “whoever did it definitely targeted Libby,” and that the 14-year-old “fought like crazy.”

In October 2022, the police made their first breakthrough with the arrest of 50-year-old Richard Allen.

However, the new documentary instead pointed to a new killer, the man who owned the property where the girls were discovered, Ron Logan, in chilling new claims from his ex-girlfriend.

Logan, who died from Covid-19 in January 2022, was one of the first suspects investigators looked into, and he appeared in the media several times in the aftermath of the murders as they gained national attention.

After key pieces of evidence emerged – a photo of the killer and a recording of his voice made by Libby on her phone – Logan appeared on Inside Edition to claim he didn’t recognize the person or voice of anyone he saw on his phone had seen. property.

But his ex-girlfriend Connie Dillman has claimed there is no doubt it was Logan in the clips, saying she insisted to authorities her ex is the killer.

“That’s your voice,” she said of Logan. “I’ve heard the voice of ‘down the hill’ thousands of times. It’s Ron Logan.’

Dillman said she began her six-year relationship with Logan after meeting him at a bar in Delphi, Indiana, and they quickly bonded over their love of horses and the outdoors.

But she said their relationship quickly went downhill as he began to control her daily life and treat her like a “sex instrument.”

“When I didn’t want sex, he forced it on me,” she said. ‘I was helpless.’

She once claimed that when she tried to leave, he hit her in the head with a wrench, leaving her with seven stitches.

Shortly after their relationship ended, the murder of the two teenage girls rocked the Delphi community and made national headlines – leaving Dillman certain that her former lover was the killer when she saw him on TV.

After the murders attracted national attention, law enforcement came under fire for not releasing details about the crime, a factor they cited because they wanted to maintain control of the investigation and not release information that would only identify the killer. have known.

Amid the frustration for information, lurid text messages leaked online from someone at the crime scene, which the documentary claimed were shared by Abby’s uncle, David Erskin.

The text read: ‘Me and my other sister’s boyfriend are the ones who found the girls on Tuesday. According to the coroner’s report, it was all over by 3:30 p.m. No rape. Abby was dressed. Libby was naked.

“Libby’s top half was covered in leaves and sticks, almost as if they were trying to cover her.

“The only DNA would have come from Libby’s fingernails. She fought like hell. Whoever did it was definitely targeting Libby and knew what he was doing to Abby. It was personal with Libby.”

An expert on the case added that there were “discussions of Libby almost being decapitated, which seems like it was done out of anger.”

The investigation and arrest of Allen following his arrest has been closely watched, especially because of the evidence presented in Allen’s probable cause affidavit.

In November 2022, the affidavit cited only a single piece of evidence linking Allen to the murders: an unused shell casing from the scene.

The .40 round was found unfired within two feet of the girls, and analysis of the bullet showed it matched Allen’s firearm.

It is unclear how the bullet could have ended up in the gun, never fired and then ended up between the two bodies.

Two weeks later, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that, shortly after Allen’s arrest, one of his neighbors saw police digging in his garden to dig up his family’s dead cat.

The cat’s hair was also found to match samples found on one of the victims.

The bombshell report also revealed that investigators were looking into whether the girls were victims of a failed kidnapping scheme by a local pedophile ring.

Sources close to the investigation alleged that Allen was acting with at least two other men and was involved in a child sex ring, and Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland openly stated that he believes “Allen is not the only actor involved.”
