Marie Osmond, 64, says she stays a size 2 because she wants to ride bicycles with her grandkids: ‘I hope to be the fun grandma for a long time!’

Marie Osmond stays fit for her family.

She told DailyMail.com exclusively that she is slim so she can keep up with her grandchildren.

“When I’m at the end of my life, I want to spend time with my family,” said the singer, who also stays active with power walks.

‘One of the reasons I stay in good shape is because I want to go cycling with my grandchildren. I want to be the fun grandma and you can’t do that if you’re not feeling well,” the Paper Roses crooner added.

“Those are my priorities for me. “I want my grandchildren to know me as the real me, not the Marie Osmond they see on TV, but I want them to know who I am and that is a real-time commitment.”

“It’s so funny this Christmas, my eight year old grandson asked me if I was famous and I said no, I’m not because I don’t want them to see me as a famous person and I want them to see me as I’m sharing them.

“At this stage of my life, I have been blessed with six decades in this career. God has been good to me.”

She also talked about her bucket list.

“My bucket list started when my album titled Unexpected debuted at number one on the billboard, and that was honestly, how funny is this? – unexpected for me because I thought I was old. What happened, how could this happen?’ she noted.

“I was like, ‘Wait a minute! I’m still doing so well, but what have I actually been doing for fun?’ she noted.

“It was a real mental shift for me and I started thinking about things I really wanted to do, like traveling.”

And she really enjoyed seeing new countries.

“I always wanted to go to Israel, so I went up Mount Sinai with my son and as a clown and watched the sun rise together,” the TV star said.

‘I jumped out of a plane with my daughters because I was afraid of heights and wanted to address that. I was also going to Iceland and Greenland with my husband, so I wanted to come along.’

“When I'm at the end of my life, I want to spend time with my family,” said the singer, who also stays active with power walks. “And I did an episode of Bold and the Beautiful because the producer said, ‘Hey, you’re in LA, why don’t we just do it?’

“And it was so much fun; I played such a cocky character and it was exciting even though I had to work from five in the morning to midnight.”

She told DailyMail.com exclusively where her next destination is.

“Next I’m going to Brazil because I want to see the waterfalls where the movie The Mission was shot – that movie with Robert De Niro – I love water and I just want to be there and sit with my own eyes,” Marie said.

‘And my next passion is glass blowing. It’s so interesting to me. I’m going to Sweden to blow glass and learn how to do it. There are just things I want to do.”

She is also still an ambassador NutriSystem after almost 20 years.

Last year she helped introduce a program for people over 50, which takes important health factors into account.

Fifty is a special number for Marie as she lost 20kg through the programme, and it marks 50 years since her music career began.

“Nutrisystem helped me lose 50 pounds and it changed my life for the better,” Osmond told DailyMail.com.

‘Maintaining my weight loss has left me feeling my best and having more energy than ever before. I’m blooming!’

‘I have energy to keep up with my busy touring schedule and especially energy to play with my active grandchildren. Nutrisystem Complete 50 not only helps you lose weight; it can help you live a more active life.”

She says she stuck with the brand because she believes it is a solid product.

‘I really believe in Nutrisystem 1000%. I have been asked to make many different recommendations and I have turned down many because I really have to believe in the product with Nutrisystem. I feel like I’ve helped millions of people get healthy. This is the real deal.

“It really works and that makes me happy that I can help others,” she said.

Osmond also talked about turning 50.

‘As I reached middle age and my body changed, I started to have that weight on my stomach and this program addressed that problem.

“It’s called visceral fat and it’s deadly in women,” Donny Osmond’s sister noted.

‘I like Nutrisystem because you can eat all the time and not starve yourself, which means your body doesn’t store fat.

‘When you join the program you choose what you want, there is so much to choose from.

“My weight still goes up and down, but I keep it under control — like I never let myself get 5 pounds overweight.” At Christmas I went 3 pounds over my weight limit and after Christmas it came off, I just worked on it.

“I keep my weight under control,” she also said.

‘Snacking is a big problem because women’s blood sugar levels drop and they reach for fun foods. I do snack, but I don’t crave junk food because I generally eat well.’

Instead of chips she reaches for vegetables.

‘When I get hungry, I have tomatoes, cheese, yoghurt, red peppers, cucumbers – and I love hummus; that’s very important to me, so I never feel deprived.”

And every now and then she has something tasty.

“And yes, I do eat desserts — I recently shared a cheesecake with my friend at Juniors Deli in New York City,” Marie told DailyMail.com.

“The problem with me is that my body knows I’m not going to starve it, so it doesn’t store or accumulate food; he knows he will get food when he needs it.”

And she also remains active.

‘As far as exercise goes, I run three to four times a week. I really can’t walk every day because I’m just too busy; I have my career and my grandchildren,” she said.

‘I’m a big fan of walking – although I just do it when I can – and I love audiobooks; I listen to it when I walk because I’m a multitasker. I like to exercise and learn at the same time.;

‘Most women are active, especially if you raise children.

‘I think the most important thing is to look at nutrition, and with Nutrisystem the food really keeps your weight down.’

‘I had a problem with my knees when I was overweight, my knees were taking a hit from the extra 50 pounds I had. I was preparing for Dancing With The Stars and I just panicked because I had too much weight on me.
