Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman address fans’ biggest Wolverine questions about Deadpool 3

Full spoilers follow for 2017 Logan.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have answered Marvel fans’ biggest questions after the news that Wolverine will star in Deadpool 3.
Confirming that the fan-favorite adamantium-laced superhero would be making an appearance in Deadpool 3 yesterday (September 27), the acting duo took to YouTube and social media to answer fans’ most pressing questions about the Marvel Phase 5 project.
Watch the video below:
First, in the 75-second video, Reynolds and Jackman mainly explain how Wolverine lives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The answer comes after fans wondered how the clawed super-powered creature could exist in Marvel’s cinematic juggernaut, what with him dying in 2017’s Logan, Jackman’s supposedly final appearance as Wolverine, and one of the last X-Men movies Fox produced. .
“Don’t worry, we’re going to answer them all [your questions]’ says Jackman. “For example, how does Wolverine live after Logan?”
As Reynolds is quick to explain, Logan takes place in 2029 in a different timeline to the increasingly complex timeline of the MCU. “Logan died in Logan, [so] we’re not touching that,” Reynolds adds, before the Free Guy star begins to open up on Deadpool 3’s plot.
Or so it seems. As Reynolds and Jackman begin to outline the story, Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go” song starts playing over the top, meaning we don’t really get to hear what the pair are discussing. It’s a typically droll, bait, and switch-esque video from Reynolds and his company. As the audio returns, the two thank Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for the opportunity before a montage of footage of Reynolds and Jackman’s friendship over the years ends the footage.
However, given the technology currently available to audio experts, we wouldn’t be surprised if someone tries — and successfully — isolates Reynolds and Jackman’s conversation to hear what they’re really saying. Full transparency: We’d be surprised if the duo actually said anything spoilers about Deadpool 3’s story.
Before yesterday’s announcement, we previously knew that Deadpool 3 was on the way and that it would be the first R-rated MCU movie. Feige confirmed this in January 2021, but other than some brief updates from Reynolds and the film’s writers – Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick – there was very little new information about how Deadpool 3’s development was progressing.
Within minutes someone will lip-read and post the transcript, because the internet can (occasionally) be a beautiful placeSeptember 28, 2022
Marvel fans were disappointed with Deadpool 3’s no-show at D23 Expo 2022. However, now we’ve heard about Jackman’s involvement and the superhero movie’s release date. It’s coming September 6, 2024, which means Deadpool’s MCU debut will either book the end of Phase 5 or kick off Phase 6 instead of Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie reboot.
The new details about Deadpool 3 came just hours before news of another MCU movie – Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot – revealed that the vampire superhero movie had several snags in its own development. It’s unclear whether the Phase 5 movie is in serious danger or not, but it doesn’t look like it will make it to its November 3, 2023 theater launch date at this rate.
