16th Finance Commission: Center replaces Rajadhyaksha as member | Financial News – Business Standard

The government will appoint a member of the 16th Finance Commission in place of Niranjan Rajadhyaksha, executive director of Artha Global, a policy consultancy firm. “Dr. Rajadhyaksha has indicated that he is unable to assume this responsibility due to unforeseen personal circumstances,” said a press statement from the Ministry of Finance. Rajadhyaksha was appointed to the 16th Finance Commission on January 1, 2024. The first meeting of the Commission was held on February 14 under the chairmanship of Arvind Panagariya to discuss the mandate.

The other members of the Commission include Ajay Narayan Jha, member of the 15th FC and former expenditure secretary, and Annie George Mathew, former special secretary of expenditure.
