Massacre on Australia’s doorstep as 53 people are killed in Papua New Guinea
At least fifty-three people have been killed in a massacre in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, local officials have confirmed.
The men were shot dead in an ambush in Enga province in the South Pacific island’s remote highlands, the ABC reported.
The massacre was a major escalation of ongoing tribal violence in the region.
Images had emerged of bodies being loaded into a police truck, ABC reported.
The report did not make it clear when the massacre took place.
